Services
This course is ideal for people interested in sailing who have never stepped on a boat before or know very little about sailing. This 3 hour course is designed to whet your appetite for sailing' and is conducted in a mono hull yacht, similar to those you would hire in the Whitsunday Islands, not a sailing dinghy.
Take the stress out of the unknown and grab the helm with confidence after our comprehensive and hands on bare boat sailing course. We encourage you to bring all the people participating in the holiday as they will all gain valuable knowlegde and appreciation of what it takes to make a memorable and enjoyable holiday crusing the Whitsundays.
Our destination is Jumpinpin, the northern tip of South Stradbroke Island. We'll cruise past some of the most expensive waterfront properties on the Gold Coast and then onto the Southern reaches of Moreton Bay. You'll have plenty of time to take in a snack and a drink while the beautiful natural scenery sails past.
If you are looking for a beautiful setting to spoil someone you can't get much better. We've had many surprise birthday and anniversary cruises at sunset, some have even "popped the question!". This is also a nice way to start off a special dinner date, we can arrange for drop off/pick up at Marina Mirage which has some lovely first class restaurants as well as Versace Hotel for customers dinning at their beautiful waterfront restaurants.

I had done a bareboat charter previously but felt very underprepared when it came to putting sails up and turning off the engine. This time my family and I did a couple of sessions with Terry before going, felt much more confident and had a great time - couldn’t wait to get the sails up. Also good for planning trip and anchoring without stress. Recommend to anyone planning on doing a charter with minimal experience, thank you!

A crucial introduction to sailing. Our small group ranged from a seasoned power boater to never having stepped on a boat, we all got what we needed.
Terry combined clear instruction and hands on experience to give us a solid foundation. Within 3 hours, our group walked away feeling confident and excited to sail.

Did a learn to sail course with the family, Terry was exceptional in his knowledge and managing low confidence with our inexperience. 4 of us decided to organise a bare boat catamaran sail charter in the Whitsundays so we could experience sailing. We are all boaters but have not sailed before. Wanting to make the most of the experience I contacted Terry from Sail Gold Coast and organised a sailing lesson to give us a head start.
Our initial booking saw us at the marina on Terry’s yacht learning the basic do’s and do nots which with Terry’s guidance and explanations was easy to understand and follow. In April 2021 my wife and I went sailing with Terry through the Gold Coast Broadwater and surrounds. Terry is an outstanding sailing guide and host. We spent time with Terry learning about sailing in the Gold Coast seaways and just as importantly to us, time relaxing. I highly recommend Terry and "Celebrate by Sail Gold Coast". We will be back next summer.

Our sailing experience with Terry was awesome , we did the lesson as part of getting experienced for a bare foot boating holiday in October !!! Terry was very professional and taught us a lot in our 3 hour lesson , from safety. Using the winches, putting up sails and sailing , in a fun and easy to understand manor ! It was a great experience and we will definitely be doing another couple of lessons !!!

Took the family - 2 young kids - on the 3hr learn to sail lesson. Absolutely fantastic experience! Terry is amazing, great to teach and to build your confidence, and the Broadwater is a very good place to learn the basics. the kids had a great time - definitely something to do on a weekend, and now very keen to go to the next level and sail the Whitsundays!! I purchased a sailing lesson as a gift for my dad for Father's Day. Terry was super friendly and is extremely knowledgable about what he does. He explained things in a way that was really easy for a group of total beginners to understand and we loved getting to have a very hands-on experience under his skilled guidance.
