Originally named the 'Wonthaggi Miners' Friendly Society's Dental Clinic', the Miners' Dental Clinic has been a pillar of the Wonthaggi community since opening in 1927. Mr. Meredith was the first dentist to be employed at the clinic, who brought with him his own 'dental mechanic'.
While we have moved on to modern dental and orthodontic practices, the history of our clinic has helped us establish a deep-rooted connection to the surrounding communities, including Cowes and Korumburra.Our team of dentists are proud that our dental clinic is regularly visited by patients in Cowes, Korumburra, Wonthaggi, Leongatha and all over the Bass Coast and South Gippsland regions.

Each of our dentists are highly qualified and dedicated to ensuring that they deliver the best dental treatment for you and your family. Dr Vandana Budhwar completed her dental degree in 2004. Following graduation, she worked at The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne as an 'Emergency Registrar' for 3 years.

We are a state of the art ADA accredited practice that has been looking after generations of patients in Wonthaggi and its surrounding areas since 1927.
We offer a wide range of payment options at the Miners' Dental Clinic to ensure it is easy for all of our patients to keep up to date with their accounts. We are able to process rebates for patients with private health insurance at the time of your appointment for your convenience. We also welcome patients eligible for, or in possession of eligible vouchers, the following government funded programs.

I visited this clinic initially to replace a broken filling, & was advised to get a crown on the tooth. The whole process took over 4 months & I spent over $2000. The crown had not even arrived on the appointment when I first went to have it fitted, & then when it did arrive it did not fit & had to be remoulded. I found some of the dental work on that appointment painful, & following appointments were delayed due to aching in the tooth. On the final appointment, the healthy tooth adjacent to the crowned tooth was also partially ground to fit with the crowned tooth & I have since had sensitivity

Very disappointing. Staff were initially friendly, but when the dentist revealed to me the cost of my treatment would be close to a month's rent, my admission that I didn't have enough money to pay had me out the door like old rubbish. I have a congenital condition which predisposes me to terrible dentition, but was treated like some kind of drug addict with poor oral hygiene. They even had the gall to charge me over a hundred dollars for this experience. I was left in tears and an even worse financial position to pay for much needed dental work. My whole family are very happy with the service we received from the dentist at Miners Dental Clinic. I have always had a fear of going to the dentist, but not this time, the dentist was patient and reassuring. The service I received was pain free and everyone there was so kind. We will definitely make it our families Dental Clinic. Very happy.
