The Conveyancing team at Legal Solutions are friendly and experienced lawyers and conveyancing clerks, who will work for you to ensure your sale or purchase runs smoothly. If you are borrowing money from a lender, you only have the time provided in the Contract to obtain unconditional approval. You should take a copy of your signed Contract to your banker or broker as soon as possible. As soon as you sign the Contract, telephone your insurer and obtain a cover note on the property.
Do not let your insurance lapse prior to settlement, as you are liable for any damage to the property until settlement has completed. You are required by law to change the address on your driver's licence and the Electoral Role as soon as you move! If you notify the Department of Transport, they can update your address on your vehicle registration.
Please contact us to obtain an Estimate of Costs from one of our lawyers or conveyancing clerks for the cost of our professional fees, disbursements and government charges relevant to you. In Tasmania there is no Vendor disclosure and therefore the onus is the Purchaser to carry out all due diligence enquiries about the property, prior to settlement.
