We are a family owned winery and vineyard making premium cool-climate wines on the Mornington Peninsula. Through a minimal intervention approach to our winemaking we create wines that best express their site and the growing season. Avani Syrah is made exclusively from grapes grown on our estate vineyard in Red Hill following organic and biodynamic principles.
Our Amrit range features Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris from grapes sourced from other vineyards in the region which are farmed sustainably. In addition to the classics we also make small batches of skin-contact and pet-nat style wines. We will take you on a delicious journey to explore regional cuisine paired with a featured wine each week.

My partner and I sat for the Harry Mangat 4-course menu over lunch. We shared a bottle of the 2020 Skin Contact Pinot Gris, which was one of the most interesting wines that either of us have tried, and really paired very well with the menu. The service was impeccable and the food was wonderful. Very impressed.

A unique suite of wines created and served up by some warm & lovely folks. The ones we tried paired perfectly with the modern Australian-South Asian fusion of flavours, especially the Amrit Pinot Gris Skin Contact 2020 and the Avani Syrah 2018. Found the wines overall complex yet delicate. The innovative spicy notes was reminiscent of my visits to South Asia & at the same time, the earthiness of the wines reminded me why I love the Mornington region.

If you are looking for that unique intimate experience, this may be it. It was a treat to be dining in the cellar alongisde the barrels with an inspiring set course menu that shows the passion for the local produce. The choice of spices for the dishes show the influences of the chef. There was only praise for the food and the setting. The service should be especially highlighted because it was excellent. We decided to allow the kitchen to choose the wines for the meal and these complemented the food well. This is now a favourite to be revisited.

Absolutely loved the wine and food! So great to see an indian women winemaker creating such distinct wines - the Syrah was a standout. Also enjoyed the skin contact Gris - went really well with the indian inspired menu. The strawberry gum and vanilla kulfi was just wow! The australian native ingredients paired with the indian flavours worked so well. Cant wait to go back!

The wine, food and ambience at Avani is amazing! I have visited many times and recently came down again with a group for the summer pop up - we were treated to a relaxing lunch with a beautiful vineyard view. We particularly loved the Skin Contact Pinot Gris and Rose de Saignee - and also took home a bottle of the biodynamic Syrah.
The contemporary Indian menu with Australian native ingredients and local produce was also delicious (catering to our dietary requirements) with the asparagus and onion uttapam and strawberry gum and vanilla kulfi being the highlights. Will definitely be back again

I have been visiting Avani Wines regularly from the past few years and it's been a wonderful experience with the most loving caring n adorable couple. Avani has an Aura which attracts me every year during vintage to enjoy the process of wine making, great hospitality n of course the exotic variety of wines with a spiritual blend.
