I cannot recommend this company enough
These guys are the best and the quality and workmanship as well as friendliness exceeded even our expectations .
The moss rock wall 20 meters long is now the feature point of our property
They even went the next level by coming back to shift the wall free of charge after another contractor doing other work got their measurements wrong which meant the wall needed to be repositioned

On 18 January 2021 I sent a request for a 16m long x 1m high retaining wall with fencing to them. They immediately emailed back asking for the site plan which I sent straight away.
I checked back in after three days (21 January 2021) because I hadn't heard anything from them and was told the following morning that a quote should be sent to me by lunch time that day.
Fast forward 8 days later (29 January) and I got another email, this time saying they won't give me a quote, the job was too small for them to quote but did offer up the name of three other companies that I could use instead.

Many thanks to John, Dave and the team on the completion of our retaining wall at Chandlers Hill. We found the team to be very professional and helpful throughout the project - problem solving a couple of issues with minimal fuss. Access to our site was steep and challenging but no problem for RWI. The project competed on time and as quoted. Highly recommended 👍

Great experience overall, good communication, with some glitches that were taken on board and sorted. Brilliant suggestion of changing some aspects of our planned Walls which provided for an extremely significant increase in available space, and the additional non-planned Walls got done at the same time. Kept us up to date, project started and finished on time. Matt our Client liaison answered emails and phone calls without delay. Will use again for future projects.

High quality retaining walls done by Retaining Wall Industries. Would highly recommend this company for anyone looking for retaining. Friendly staff and contractors who pay attention to detail. Parts of the job were very complex, as some pre-existing walls had to be removed and rebuilt, but was all completed in a timely manner and correctly done without any issues.

RWI have just completed a challenging retaining wall and steps at our home. I have only the highest praise for the way the overall project was handled . John the CEO was very professional and pleasant to deal with as were all of the staff at RWI. A particular mention must go to Steve and Cliff who were on site for 4 days. They were great workers and even with some unforseen difficulties they retained their high standard of workmanship and humour.
I can thoroughly recommend John and his team at RWI.

The wall we had done by Retaining Wall Industries was not an easy one.
The whole team from the very top down were 110% positive they could achieve a great result and they did!!.
Very limited access and not much,if any swinging room but they did it with great care and respect that it was an already established home.
Highly recommend RWI for anyone who wants a retaining wall done.

Their estimator visited us on site several times as our design went through several different incarnations.
He gave us some very sound design advice and really considered what the finished product would look like from a client perceptive rather than just thinking about the price to win the job.
We had a difficult block to access and work on and when the guys arrived to build the wall they had the expertise to deliver a great job even though there a few unforeseen issues - None of which were a problem for the guys to deal with and we were kept informed the

With this review, I'd like to personally thank John Rowland from RWI not just for taking this job on such short notice, but also for his kindness and workmanship. He was very professional and did the job right, on time and on budget. My job was not only a rush one, but a somewhat complicated one. It was well done. There was even a mudslide near the end of my build and thanks to the strong retaining wall, the damage was contained. It could have been catastrophic had the retaining wall given in, but it didn't. I can now rest assured that it not only looks great, but it also passed a real life stress

Would not recommend. Normally I would not leave negative feedback for a company, however RWI have demonstrated they are not a pleasant company to deal with.
Unfortunately as one of the major retainwall players in SA, they are often one of the few that can take on larger difficult projects.
As with any builders, if you are going to use them, make sure you get everything in writing (signed), take plenty of photos before, during and after construction. Most importantly stipulate that variations are agreed to prior to works.
