The city of Cairns in Tropical North Queensland, was founded in 1876 and named after William Wellington Cairns, Governor of Queensland. It is nestled between a 180 million-year-old rainforest, (the oldest in the world) and the Great Barrier Reef (one of the seven wonders of the world) is 500,000 years young, with geological records indicates that it was formed at least 240 million years ago.

Super clean & well maintained. I have stayed at numerous Caravan parks over the past three years of continuous travel. First City Carivalla, stands out with the best of the best for cleanliness, friendliness and impeccably maintained grounds. Cairns City is just 4 k away, which is an easy drive or bus trip and Stocklands Shopping Centre with Coles & Woolworths, just 10 minute walk. DFO is jus a few minutes by car or a 20 min walk. Staff are sincere and obliging. This is my fourth visit to, First City Carivalla, where I wouldn't stay anywhere else. .

We extended our stay here due to the location and the friendly atmosphere of the park. The sites are flat and a good size. The staff were very helpful from reception to cleaning and gardening The grounds are kept extremely tidy, while the amenities, slightly outdated, are kept very clean and tidy by the cleaner.
