What is preventive dentistry? Preventive dentistry helps you maintain a healthy mouth. It helps you to retain your teeth and means you need to have less dental treatment. The two main causes of tooth loss are decay and gum disease. The better you prevent or deal with these two problems, the better chance you will have of keeping your teeth for life.
Dental fillings are placed to repair decayed teeth, surface damage and minor tooth fractures. Dental fillings include ceramic and plastic compounds that mimic the appearance of natural teeth. These compounds, often called composite resins, are usually used on the front teeth where a natural appearance is important, but they can also be used on the back teeth depending on the location and extent of the tooth decay.
In individuals whose teeth have been damaged by injury, tooth grinding, extensive decay, or gum disease rebuilding of their broken down or worn teeth can be accomplished with modern day techniques. Missing teeth can be replaced with either bridgework, removable partial dentures, or dental implants as needed.
Our practice believes you deserve leading-edge clinical care. We utilize the most advanced dental technology for the safest, most comfortable, and accurate diagnostics to enable thorough treatment planning. We integrate different technologies into our practice to create a more effective experience for our patients, our dentists and staff are trained to function seamlessly with our digital dentistry technology.
The decision about whether to take a dental X-Ray is answered by weighing up the risks versus the benefits. If you gain good amount of information from it, which enables the Dentist to diagnose and treat the tooth properly then it's worth taking an X-Ray. No, bleeding gums can be a sign of gingivitis or gum disease.

Lake Macquarie Dental is an exceptional dental practice. After some years of not visiting a dentist due to unpleasant experiences, Lake Macquarie Dental is a breath of fresh air. Every member of staff that I had contact with were very friendly and professional.
Every aspect of my treatment was throughly explained to me and any anxiety I may have been experiencing was put at ease. I experienced a painless tooth extraction, thanks to Dr Eric Asis.
I was contacted by a member of staff the following day to ensure that all was well with my condition.
10/10 to this outstanding Dental Practice.
