The Academy of Psychic Sciences was founded in Sydney 1985 by Paul Fenton-Smith, who aimed to teach the psychic sciences in a clear and simple manner. Courses were initially in ten week terms with introductory tarot lasting ten weeks and psychic development courses lasting 30 weeks in three ten week terms.
Paul taught tarot and palmistry, having studied these since 1978 and fellow teachers taught psychic development classes. Teachers were engaged to teach a variety of courses but in time Paul found that to avoid all the administration demands, he had to simplify the process by trimming back the courses offered.

Since 1985 we have offered certificate courses in Tarot card reading, palmistry, astrology and self development. Our courses are held on Sundays in Sydney and on weekends interstate. Our Tarot, Palmistry and Astrology courses are certificate courses, involving written and practical exams, while our self development courses are designed to give you tools for life.
In 2001 Paul Fenton-Smith published his first guided mediations CD under his publishing branch; Academy Publishing. Since then Academy Publishing has produced three more meditation CDs, a tarot DVD and revised editions of Finding Your Soul Mate, A Secret Door to the Universe, Palmistry Revealed a new title Intuition.

'Advanced Tarot' is a comprehensive book that will replace many of my classic tarot reference books. Even though it is packed full of information it reads like Paul is sitting with you as a mentor talking over a cup of tea. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it to people at any stage of their tarot journey.

I have studied with Paul, had a palmreading with him and hired him for book coaching over the past several years. I also helped him to visit Brisbane to teach palmistry while I was running a related meetup. Paul is direct, confident and rapid-fire. His books are excellent texts and well worth reading. Very few people in the industry have his level of teaching skill and dedication. If you have a chance to go to his courses, they are well worth the effort.

I attended Paul's Palmisty course recently and highly reccomend.
It was fantastic!!!
Paul is an extremely intelligent, creative and inspiring teacher.
His book takes you through a journey of Palmistry with brilliantly discriptive examples of the folk he has met along the way and what their hands reveal.
He is also hillarious, It was a great learning experience and Paul shared all his stories with great sense of humour.
I purchased his book 'A Sercret Door to the Universe'
And could not put it down!!!
I will definitely be attending more of Paul's courses as he is a phenomenal teacher offering

I have just started a palmistry course last week with Paul, after reading his latest book which I got 5 months earlier. Everything just seem to fall into place when your in his palmistry class. He has a way of telling a story that fits with the hand at question and has picked my personal traits to a T. I would highly recommend him to anyone that wants to do a course. Cheers

I recently had a brilliant telephone reading from Paul. I highly recommend him. He didn't want any information and did a blind reading, after which, he answered more specific questions. Everything he picked up on was freakishly accurate. I think it is superb that he gives you a CD of the reading as well, so you can go back and play it. I found it even more accurate when I actually listened to the recording (as it is difficult to remember all the reading when you initially finish the reading) and will be interested to see how the next year or two pan out. Very impressed. He is a very talented man

I sat there being 5 months pregnant after going through a known donor program to become a single mum (and now in a complicated situation about whether to involve the father who has been in and out of my life for years) and none of this was picked up - and not even in any vague way.
After numerous readings over the year on phone and in person, I don't think the cost was worth the amount of correct information received.
There have been two or three snippets which were amazing, detailed, accurate and unprompted - details which were verified that night or cropped up the next year - and I do believe
