Regardless of age or gender, 80% of the population will suffer from back pain at some time in their life. A common buzz word linked to LBP is sciatica, which refers to pain not only experienced in the back, but in the buttocks and down the back of the legs. It is often described as a sharp, electric shock type pain that can be extremely debilitating, and often linked with protective muscle spasm.
Shoulder pain is fast becoming a common presenting complaint at Parkdale Osteopathic Clinic. The reasons for this are many and varied, but could be due to some of the following observations listed below. As a society, we are spending more time in sedentary positions where we spend many hours hunched over a desk, holding a smart phone, typing on a computer or tablet or gripping a steering wheel.
The most common type of headache (and/or neck pain) originates from joint strain or muscle weakness in the neck and upper thoracic region. Osteopaths, as primary health care practitioners, are trained to differentiate between headaches with common causes and those due to serious pathology.

You should always seek advice from a health professional, including an osteopath, if you get a headache after a head trauma and/or the headache is getting worse. You should also seek professional advice if the headache is accompanied by fever, nausea or vomiting, bleeding or fluid draining from the nose or ears, dizziness, blurred vision or speech, numbness, tingling or paralysis.

I have been to these guys for neck, back, shoulder, wrist, Achilles and ankle injuries over the past 5 years. They are gentle, thorough, knowledgable and ALWAYS fix me! Can't recommend them more highly. Usually see Sean but have also seen Laura and Chris. All excellent.
