Services
Debra and Reg Mason, with children from the local Aboriginal community, at the Oenpelli Springs in 1994. Shortly after their arrival, the local Aboriginal population of the Oenpelli area approached Reg to buy their paintings. Reg did so for some time, but the quantity of work became so great that he found it necessary to market some of the collection - and the Arnhem Land Art Gallery was born.
The interactive gallery below features artwork that has recently arrived at Mason Gallery. This gallery will be updated whenever new artworks arrive, so bookmark our page to stay up-to-date with what's new at Mason Gallery. If you would like to enquire about any of the pieces displayed here, please email sales@masongallery.com.au.
We are proud to present one of Darwin's largest selections of beautiful woven Pandanus bowls, baskets and mats by artists from throughout Arnhem Land including Maningrida, Numbulwar, Elcho Island and Oenpelli. The women harvest the Pandanus, and then strip the strands into thin little strands that are then dyed, and used for weaving.
Our inspirational selection of carvings from across the Northern Territory includes pieces from Larrakia Nation, Groote Eylandt, Arnhem Land, the Central Desert and the Tiwi Islands. The carvings are made from a wide range of timbers, from the Tiwi Islands' famous ironwood, to the soft beanwood of East Arnhem Land.

Incredible gallery filled with a range of beautiful art and run by wonderful people. Geoffrey was very welcoming and more than happy to share his vast knowledge with us. The time he spent with us to ensure we found our perfect piece was greatly appreciated.
Definitely recommend visiting this gallery to everyone and will certainly be back during our next visit to Darwin!

So if you can't jump on a small FLY TIWI Plane you should come here. Just the plane ticket and time I could have purchase 1 or 2 more items here. Well I learned and that's why I shearing with you.

Fantastic pieces with photos and details of each indeginous artist. Prices for the art was on par with most places in Darwin which was quite dear. But I guess the galleries have to make their profits and cover costs.

Very large selection of paintings and all as great as the last. The employees are also awesome and take the time to explain the history and culture of the artists as well as the meaning of their work. Definitely will never see an aborigines painting the same way again!

Amazing experience and a very knowledgeable staff. It’s very obvious this gallery is directly involved with their artists. Spoke with “Aunty Shirley” who helped us look through their works and explained in-depth. She has wonderful insight into the art and artist and is proud of her culture.
