Ceberano Martial Arts Academy
It is important to begin building confidence, control, self discipline and fitness from an early age. These are the foundations for success in an ever competitive world. Our training programs are designed to help empower our students to deal with the challenges and stresses that are presented each day of our lives.

This begins with acknowledging respect for ourselves and for others. The confidence that comes from Goju Karate training helps create a strong foundation to support personal development and success. Maintaining fitness throughout the years is a fundamental foundation for health and wellbeing. Being part of a group whilst training, rather than hitting the track on your own is proven to be more effective.

Little Ninjas are one of our most popular groups in the club, most of these children start even before Kindergarten or prep at school. Starting children this early gives them an incredible grounding in both social and physical skills. From the start we instill the values manners and respect. Many of our Little Ninjas stay with us for years and progress up the levels making Karate part of their weekly activities.
Our Novice juniors are the foundation of our school. These children have either progressed from Little Ninjas or have joined immediately after intro classes. In this class, we focus on building self-confidence and coordination, with an emphasis on inclusion, everyone works to their own highest ability.
At CMAA we take Black belt very seriously, most of our students have had a minimum of 5 years training before becoming Blackbelt. To attend this class is by invitation only. All students commit in writing towards getting to Blackbelt. This class has also become a perfect teenage intro class. We have many 15-17 year old juniors who slot perfectly into this group and love the discipline and higher levels of Karate.

ICU physician and former student of Karate(NOT at this Dojo). I was super excited to be able to restart my journey, especially after such a hard year. I made an appointment for a walk through. I was asked to remove my mask the moment I finished filling in my intake form. The sensei told me about how I was breathing in my CO2, not getting enough oxygen and that would affect my brain if I wore a mask too long. I tried to explain to him that I have an unvaccinated kid, have asthma and even though I've had 2 vaccine doses, I would rather not take a chance. It was getting uncomfortable to listen to

They do not seem to follow any CDC protocols—No hand sanitizer or temperature checks. They wouldn't allow any mask wearing in class even though our daughter felt more comfortable with it on. As an essential worker, their rational for the lack of protocols seemed reckless and irresponsible. If they cut corners in this area and bend the rules, they probably bend other rules as well. They lost our trust. As such, we will take our business elsewhere. They didn't seem to care.

The best karate dojo where valued traditional both Okinawian an Japaneese karate school's traditions, philosophy, style, customs that help develop really authentic spirit of Budo, strong confident character which is indispensible in achieving one's life goals. Amazingly charizmatic Sensei Michael coaches and teaches every aspect of karatedo: spirit, mind, body which is very rare in modern dojos nowadays.

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Value
Have been training for couple of months now, and I have to say it is pretty great, everyone is cool and willing to help you. I am glad I made this decision, have no regrets.

I’ve increased my self confidence and physical fitness while learning to better defend myself and get an outstanding workout. Need a challenge? Take endurance class every week 😉 Sensei obviously has a deep and broad knowledge of karatedo; he generously shares his time, knowledge, and encouragement with his students. I also appreciate that they stock both traditional and low carb snack options!

Wonderful martial arts school with amazing instruction and a good range of classes.
I take adult classes and find them challenging, fun, and really interesting. I'm often challenged mentally as much as I'm challenged physically!
There are also kids classes and they seem every bit as good as the classes i take as an adult.

Easily the best martial arts school (dojo) in NYC --- and believe me I've tried a lot of them..
The most important reason to train here is Sensei .... The classes are challenging physically and mentally and he keeps me wanting to train. Plus the depth of knowledge and expertise here is insanely great.
The dojo itself is not only immaculate and clean (anyone who has visited or studied elsewhere can tell you how rare that is) but the school is a non-profit and the tuition For unlimited classes is a bargain.
