Emergency Dental Centre
If you're not sure if a dental problem is an emergency, our dentist offer this advice: If it hurts, it's an emergency. This is because even injuries that seem small or superficial can affect the living tissues inside the teeth. Quick treatment improves the odds of saving injured or damaged teeth. If you have lost your Crown or Veneer, put it in a safe place and avoid things that make the tooth hurt.

If a tooth is displaced by trauma or has been knocked out of the socket you will have to call us as soon as possible. If a tooth is broken or a filling is lost call us immediately and we will try see you before the end of the day. We treat dental emergencies very seriously, as we understand that they can be painful, distressing and even traumatic.
Services

You can catch tram numbers 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 16, 64, 67 and 72. You need to get of at the corner of Swanston Street and Grattan Street. Pain when you bite or chew, especially if it is accompanied by a foul odour and a bad taste, can be a sign of an abscess that needs immediate treatment. An abscessed tooth will cause an unrelenting and spontaneous pain that may last anywhere from 30 seconds to hours at a time. The pain may/may not be triggered by irritants such as food, heat or cold.
Teeth can sometimes be separated from dentures or partials. We also find that the clasps or the plastic base may break. Most of these issues can be remedied through our laboratory during regular business hours. Although we can often have the repair completed in one day, occasionally it may require an extra day.
If a tooth is broken or a filling is lost call us immediately and we will try see you before the end of the day. The tooth may be sensitive to hot, cold, and sweet things. Be careful with what you eat or avoid chewing on this side. It may also be annoying to your tongue and causes its laceration.

If permanent teeth are knocked out, there is an excellent chance that they will survive if they are immediately placed back in the tooth socket and dental health advice is sought straight away.Every minute the tooth is out of the socket, the less chance it has of surviving. If the knocked out tooth is dirty, gently rinse it with milk without touching the root and follow the steps below.
Infections that cause swelling of the face or fever are issues that must be addressed quickly by a dentist and may not wait until business hours begin. You should be seen quickly the day of your call. In the event that the pain is unbearable and occurs in the middle of the night, please contact our after hours service for advice.

Thank you to Dr Wardak at The Emergency Dental Centre for his help with my son's emergency dental needs during the Melbourne lockdown. I can highly recommend Dr Wardak for his professional skills and his caring manner. He did an excellent job repairing my son's chipped teeth, and his fees were more than reasonable given he worked well into the evening to ensure an excellent result with as little pain as possible. Thank you for your help.

Treated by Dr Waleed last night (Good Friday) for an emergency root canal and feeling so much better this morning. No problem getting an appointment and would definitely come back again if I had another dental emergency.

My 20 year old daughter had a trauma at home, knocked off her front tooth, badly broken. They saw her within 1 hour on christmas eve and Dr repaired the front. We couldn't tell the difference. Amazing service!

Made an emergency appointment and they fit me in within 2 hours
I was in quite a bit of pain and terribly anxious about seeing a dentist.
Saw Dr Waleed who has a calm and reassuring demeanor
He was quite gentle during the tooth removal process and made sure I wasn't in pain.
I was terrified about getting work done/needles and was quite distressed but him and the dental nurses were very caring and let me have small breaks during the extraction so I wasn't too overwhelmed

This place really sorted me out. Had a very painful toothache, went in and half an hour later, I'm heading out with one less wisdom tooth. Very quick procedure, the staff were incredibly nice and made me feel comfortable. Will be going back for other dental work I think.

Had a very loose tooth which had to be removed on a Saturday. Dr Waleed Saleh was able to see me on the afternoon of the day I phoned. Dr Saleh was very courteous, polite and very efficient. Extraction took place without pain. Grateful to have access to his practice on a weekend. Price for extraction was reasonable - $200.00. Recommended.
