Sports massage is a type of massage that is specifically tailored to sporting injuries or ailments. It is not meant to be a relaxing massage and, indeed, can become quite vigorous at times. Contrary to its name, sports massage is not only utilised by professional sportspeople or people that exercise heavily.
When muscles and tendons become damaged or impaired, knotted and tense or immobile, Remedial Massage provides a healing treatment that can be gentle or strong, deep or shallow. Remedial massage holistically treats the whole body and traces the discomfort as far as possible back to the original cause, healing both the cause of the disorder as well as the symptoms.
Deep Tissue Massage, as its name says, focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It is designed to reach the deep sections of thick muscles, specifically the individual muscle fibres. It is beneficial for many physical problems, including sports injuries and chronic pain. It works very deeply and emotional issues can also be addressed, which can be stored in the body.
The use of Accupuncture needles to stimulate a twitch response to release muscle tension and pain, allowing the body's biochemistry to produce a natural analgesic. The needles are inserted into trigger points to deactivate and resolve them and your muscular pain then disappears. It helps to treat the limitations and restrictions you may be feeling.
Shockwave therapy was originally used in urology back in the 1980s for the treatment of kidney stones, and has now found other uses in orthopaedics, physiotherapy and sports medicine over the past 21 years. Shockwave therapy has been found to be an effective treatment for predominantly tendon injuries and orthopaedic conditions.
