Acupuncture originated in China some 6000 years ago. It is the oldest and most widely used therapy method in the world. Acupuncture continues to expand and become more accepted into Western culture and medicine with excellent results. Acupuncture treatment is a holistic therapy. The interrelationship between mind and body is considered important and treatment is focused on keeping you well - both physically and mentally!
Physiotherapy as a profession is a form of manual therapy used to assist in rapid recovery and rehabilitation from all forms of injury. I often combine physiotherapy and acupuncture to speed up tissue healing and to provide faster relief from pain. Common condition treated are spinal pain and stiffness, headaches, migraines, arthritic condition, post-surgical management, vertigo (dizziness) and joint, muscle and tendon injuries or conditions.
Vertigo refers to the sensation of spinning or whirling that occurs as a result of a disturbance in your balance (vestibular) system. The most common cause of vertigo is BPPV (Benign Paroxymal Positional Vertigo). More specifically BPPV is a condition where calcium carbonate crystals in the inner ear have become dislodged, moved and become stuck in a part of the inner ear where they are causing symptoms of dizziness.

Alice is a nurturing and experienced physio, who helped me go from unable to move to back at work and functional within a week. She stayed open for me after her closing time so that I could get an appointment, and followed up with me throughout my recovery. She's the best physio I've seen in Darwin!

I was very nervous starting acupuncture due to having a phobia of needles, however within a few session I found myself looking forward to each visit.
Alice has such a wonderful, thorough and comforting approach.
She has assisted me greatly with my management and recovery from chronic illness. Her treatments have changed my life and I honestly don't believe that my recovery would be where it is now if I hadn't have made my first appointment with her following recommendations from my Doctor.
I am so so grateful to have such an amazing and caring practitioner in Darwin!!!!
Thank you Alice.
