To know us personally and not merely treat us as a chart number or "the next patient". We would want our dentist to foster this relationship by knowing what is important to us and respecting us as individuals. And we wouldn't want to be taken for granted, even years into the relationship. We would want our dentist to have a genuine concern for our comfort before, during and after our treatment.
Early 2008 he moved to Australia with his wife Cintia and joined the team at The Smile Place Mt Eliza. Andre completed his post-graduate studies in restorative and cosmetic dentistry in 2003 and then a Post-Graduate degree in Clinical Dentistry (Oral Implants) at the University of Melbourne in 2011.
Dr Wei grew up in Melbourne and received his Bachelor of Biomedicine and Doctor of Dental Surgery, both from the University of Melbourne. Dr Wei has extensive experience in general dentistry after working for a number of years in South Gippsland, where he developed a passion for preventative dentistry and Oral Surgery, including third molar extractions.
Dr Semi grew up in sunny Queensland, and moved to Victoria for her studies at the University of Melbourne. She graduated with Bachelor of Biomedicine and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees. During her dental degree, she was awarded multiple prestigious prizes for her academic excellence. Prior to joining the team at The Smile Place Mt Eliza, Dr Semi gained extensive experience in general dentistry working in the inner north and eastern suburbs.
Natalie graduated from Melbourne University as a dental hygienist and therapist (Oral Health Therapist) in 2007. Natalie has worked in various aspects of dentistry, and as an Oral Health Therapist she can provide comprehensive care to children and young adults. She loves a challenge and is experienced in general dentistry, cosmetics and Orthodontics.

All the staff are extremely compassionate. I had a lot of pain from a tooth abscess and the beautiful receptionist calmed me down and got me in the next morning to be seen. When I came in for my appointment the next day she made me feel very validated. The dentist was efficient and professional. I highly recommend The Smile Place if you want good and caring dental work.

If you have a child who is terrified of going to the dentist, who has had a bad experience at another dentist, and REALLY NEEDS a dentist - GO TO THESE GUYS. Patience, expertise, great staff and really modern and comfortable rooms meant this Mum breathed a big sigh of relief! So did the 13 year old boy child who now looks forward to seeing Dr Wade and Ursula. THANK YOU! You were amazing and I really appreciate the way you take the time to explain everything to both my kids when they are in the chair. Mwah!

I am a craven coward when it comes to the dentist but I couldn't recommend The Smile Place more highly. From the friendly girls on reception to the dentists themselves especially Dr Michael Wylie and dental nurse Ursula. Their calming and caring attitude, explanation of treatment plus not one iota of pain or discomfort means I am even looking forward to my next visit!!!

Kate cleaned my teeth - after a year - due to Covid restrictions preventing it being done sooner... I was very apprehensive beforehand, being paranoid about going to the dentist in general, but she was gentle, used the suction frequently, and cleaned my teeth and... it was a trauma free event. Thank you Kate 😍 and thanks to the lovely dentist, who I hadn’t met before, assessed my general oral health. I liked your approach and thoroughness and would be very happy to see you again.

What a great team of professional staff with fabulous down to earth customer service.
