Services
Amber-Jayne Stirling is the owner and principal Physiotherapist of Paediatric Physiotherapy Newcastle. She has specialised in paediatric physiotherapy for more than 26 years. Amber-Jayne has extensive expertise working with infants, children and adolescents who may require developmental, neurological or orthopaedic treatment and rehabilitation.
We are a mobile service and children may be seen in their homes, or other locations including school or daycare. Individualised assessments of musculoskeletal, posture, gait, function and movement skills. Assessment, therapy and education can all be provided at your child's daycare, preschool or school.
Paediatric Physiotherapy is a specialised branch of physiotherapy for children of varying ages from 0-17 years. A Paediatric Physiotherapist helps infants, children and teens achieve developmental milestones and improve co-ordination, strength, posture, and motor skills and also to recover from trauma or surgery.
Paediatric physiotherapists work with infants, children and adolescents with a variety of conditions or stages of their development. Infants - for developmental and handling advice and techniques for parents. We also help with settling techniques including massage, colic massage and relaxation bathing.
The only thing your physiotherapist will need is some floor space and possibly some of your child's favourite toys. If your baby is not yet mobile, your physio should only need some space on the carpet or on a rug in the living room or other suitable area. If you child is walking and running, we may need a bigger space so that we can assess their mobility - a hallway, a large lounge room or outside on the patio can work well for this.
