At Sports Physio West we believe quality assessment and accurate diagnosis are the foundations for determining the appropriate treatment for any injury. Whether you're an elite sportsperson or someone who has hurt themselves gardening, every patient is examined systematically. We then explain what is wrong and what needs to be done to fix it.
If your injury is not amenable to physiotherapy we will set you on the most appropriate course of action. Established in 1991, Sports Physio West is Western Sydney's premier sports and orthopaedic physiotherapy facility. If you've got neck pain from sitting at a computer or you've "done a hami" trying to break a world record, you'll get the right advice and treatment - the first time.

You should wear clothing that allows the physiotherapist to thoroughly examine the injured area. If it is a lower limb, wearing or bringing shorts is a good idea, however we can lend you shorts if required. If it is a neck, back or upper limb, we provide gowns for our female patients, which allow the appropriate area to be examined.

Radial Shockwave Therapy (also known as Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy, ESWT) is an effective, non-invasive solution to pain associated with musculoskeletal disorders. It involves the application of a series of high-energy pneumatic percussions to the area being treated. These are acoustic pulses that travel through the target tissue, mechanically stimulating it to encourage cellular activity and kick starts healing.
Physio for dancers is a specialised area that involves the prevention and treatment of dance-related injuries. Dancers place a high demand on their body often without understanding how their body works. Our dance physiotherapist works to educate dancers in order to improve technique and prevent injury.

I cannot recommend Matt and the team at Sports Physio West highly enough. I started seeing Matt 5 years ago for sore feet and shin splint injuries from long distance running. It had been 2-3 years since I had been able to actually run longer than a few hundred metres due to the inflammation and pain. I'd tried other physios and they'd made the problem worse!
Within weeks, Matt had me back to running. All it took was some simple stretches (not crazy exercises!) and him suggesting I get fitted for new running shoes. I was utterly amazed and eternally grateful.

Your customer service is excellent. From the reception staff to the physiotherapists themselves, they are all professional, knowledgeable and caring.
My physiotherapist was incredibly approachable and took the time to understand my problem and to listen.
I appreciate the time they took to explain the underlying cause of the problem so I fully understood what was needed to be corrected.
I would highly recommend your practice to anyone.

After a negative experience with another physio in the Parramatta area I was referred to Sports Physio West / Matt by my surgeon. The difference between the two was immediately apparent as Matt was professional, knowledgeable and made the tough rehab process as enjoyable as it could be. I am very happy with the results and couldn't recommend these guys enough.

The only downside I can say is the location which makes parking a bit difficult to work around. Aside from that, the staff are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Their assessment was very thorough, they were clear and prompt in the results, and they taught me the different stretches and exercises I'd need to fix up my bad leg (if I get around to doing them).
