Thanks for stopping by to check out my work. I've been a photographer for over 17, initially starting in the industry at a commercial studio creating images for advertising and promotion. My passion is people though and the beautiful moments we share. It's no secret that I adore babies so, 12 years ago, Cocoon Studio was born.

Having a birth photographer allows the birthing woman and her support people to totally sink into the experience. Not a single thought has to be given to recording anything. You are free to concentrate, connect deeply, soak it up and be in the moment. Birth can be such a different experience for each person present and often Mothers find details hard to recall as they were in such a 'birth bubble', an almost meditative state.

WOW! Just WOW! I just received the order from our family shoot. Thank you so much Anita, our photo’s are AMAZING!! With a large family group of 3 generations I thought our photo shoot was going to be a challenge, but your patience, professionalism and expertise made our time fuss free, comfortable and fun. Anita was amazing to deal with, from start to finish. She was patient, made it fun and relaxing! She was great with the kids (and the adults) and nothing was too much trouble, she wasn’t worried about time, just wanted to get the best shots for us! Anita did a professional photoshoot for me. She had a great studio setup, great equipment, and was very versatile in the types of shots. She was very friendly, professional and personable. The photoshoot was a very dynamic process that involved the tight feedback from both the subject and the photographer, I felt this was a very distinguishing feature of a good photoshoot. I couldn't recommend Anita more. I put off updating my corporate images for so long and I'm thrilled with how well they've come up. I work in marketing and I didn't want studio shots. Anita met with me the week before and we walked around to explore possible locations. She understood exactly what I was after and nailed the relaxed urban vibe I was hoping for. And cleverly matched backgrounds to my wardrobe. If you've been putting off getting a new corporate headshot, don't. Call Anita - you won't be disappointed!

Where to start! Anita is an absolute professional in all aspects. As soon as you get in contact with her she makes you feel comfortable about the process, especially throughout the photoshoot. What makes a treasured family photo? Sure, technical factors such as understanding lighting, composition etc etc are a great start. The photos that you particularly adore though are those that capture a significant moment in time authentically. This is why we are so pleased with the memories that Anita has been able to capture for us!! Anita has a unique combination of excellent technical skills but even more importantly a gift of putting everyone at ease.

We had a premature baby, who was released very quickly from hospital. Anita from Cocoon Studios managed to book us in to capture those precious early days.
To say she was incredible with our baby is an understatement. She took her time with the shots to ensure each photo was perfect. We were so happy we booked in for a family shoot recently, also stunning photos.
I would not trust anyone else with these memories. If you want a friendly professional who works hard to get your photos to you quickly, Anita is the one for you.

Being a learning photographer Anita took me under her wing in her mentoring course, Intro to Photography. Cant recommend anyone else or any higher. She was absolutely fantastic very thorough and clear. Very relate-able, got on very well and very friendly. She made me feel super comfortable and very supportive. She has guided me and helped me believe in myself and with the continues support i have nothing stopping me now. Highly recommend for anyone following their passion!

Anita from Cocoon has an amazing ability to capture beautiful moments with the photo's being so effortless and natural. We have had the pleasure of having Anita do our newborn and family photo's for our 3 children over the past 9 years and we are always so pleased with the worked she produces. Throughout the sessions Anita is easy going, patient and warm and this enables her to get the best out of our older children. Her workmanship is fine. That was not the issue. But her professionalism with regards to keeping the customer happy was apalling. Misinformation between both parties was to blame but when it came to rectifying the situation she didn't bother trying. She had gotten her money for the shoot that was all she cared about. As it is her own business she… could quite easily have altered the package to include photos on disc/usb butshe didn;t and kept insisting that, No she couldn't do that, even though clearly it costs her nothing more and it would have solved majority of the problem.
