Wherever possible, it is preferable to give advance consideration to matters which may arise in the future. With a little planning, lengthy and expensive Court proceedings can be avoided. Legislative changes now allow Australians to reach agreement before, during or after their marriage or defacto relationship as to their financial circumstances if they separate.
Upon separation, parties may be entitled to obtain ongoing financial support in the form of spousal maintenance or de facto partner maintenance from each other. Spousal maintenance can be paid pending the finalization of proceedings (interim orders) and in some circumstances can be paid as part of the finalization of proceedings (final orders).
After the breakdown of a marriage or de facto relationship, the division of property is critically important to the financial future of both parties. While some property settlements can be reasonably straightforward, others can be extremely complex. In either case, accurate and prompt legal advice is vital.
At O'Sullivan Davies, we can provide advice and assistance with regards to pre-nuptial (Prenup) and binding financial agreements (BFAs) in Perth and throughout Western Australia. Amendments made to the Family Law Act in 2001 and the Family Court Act in 2002 now mean that binding financial agreements can be entered into by parties in or contemplating a relationship.

The worst family lawyers.
A couple of years ago I booked an initial counsalting about my family matter, they first said I need to deposit in their account before the counsaltation, after one hour counseling with a Junior lawyer they sent me hundreds pages of information about family law which I never asked for them and they charged me near $1200 for one hour consultation with a Junior lawyer.
Never trust this firm!! They just take your money!

I can highly recommend O’Sullivan Davies, and Nicola J in particular. Family law can be stressful and overwhelming, but Nicola guided me expertly through the process to a very positive result. At first I was a bit concerned that a tier one law firm might be quite expensive, however it was the exact opposite, with Nicola’s expertise resolving this matter far more quickly than someone with lesser ability would have. This was demonstrated with an impressive and complete demolition of the opposition in Court. It was satisfying to say the least. If ever I need legal services again, I won’t go

They took $5000 to tell me I was silly and had "buyers remorse", when I showed them evidence that should have reopened orders to right the gross under-settlement of my 2013 divorce. If you are female and have no money, they treat you with condescension and contempt. An abuse of power and greed like no other. Family Law...when is your Royal Commission?

From my experience they were so focused on litigation and dragging proceedings out solely with the view to increase their costs.
Just the response I'd expected. Deny any association and then express how the firm always behaves in an ethical manner. My documents bound by confidentiality indicate differently. I suggest you leave this alone and take the review in a constructive manner on how to improve your practices.

I wrote and posted this review several years ago. I am not sure why google shows this as posted only 5 months ago. In any event, I stand by my review. Money grubbing, unethical lawyers who achieved nothing after taking thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars. They do not listen to their clients or particularly care about results for their clients. They further game a process that is already designed to extract money from family court litigants when they are at their most vulnerable and most likely to simply "pay up" out of anger, fear, etc. Walk away from this firm.
