I am an experienced, professional Soft Tissue Therapist offering a multi-disciplinary approach to your treatment, that can help reduce your pain, improve posture, manage chronic conditions and speed recovery from injury. I offer individually tailored, specific treatments, that deal with your particular problem; not a uniform, one size fits all rehearsed pattern.
My experience ranges from working with amateur and professional Sportsmen (including Internationals), Government and Corporate workplace clients, pre and post-operative Hospital referrals, the general public and with "managing" our eldest daughter's Cerebral Palsy. Our growing client network is our best recommendation and advertising, as the testimonials page will demonstrate.

Trigger Point Release is the application of sustained pressure or stimuli on a palpable, taught point or band of muscle that is often painful when compressed and can refer discomfort or pain to other remote areas. A classic example of this, are the trigger points found in the Scalene muscles on the side of the neck, which can refer pain down the arm to the hand, to the front of the chest and between the shoulder blades.
Sports Massage uses General Massage and Remedial Massage techniques, but applies them to sports specific needs. These can be short duration, high energy, medium pressure treatments to limber up, motivate and prepare a client immediately PRE-Event. They can be slow, relaxing, deep flushing massages POST-Event to assist the bodies Lymphatic system and help contracted muscles stretch back to pre exercise length.
Myofascial Dry Needling (or MDN) is primarily focused on musculoskeletal injuries and the relief of chronic pain syndromes such as Fibromyalgia and back pain. It uses fine needles which can be inserted into both muscle, tendon and ligaments, and can be used as a stand alone treatment or easily incorporated into a Remedial soft tissue session.
All massage has an effect on the Myofascia surrounding the muscles and joints of the body. It is an 'elastic' connective tissue that surrounds and separates bundles of muscle. Massage moves and stretches these tissues, enabling greater Lymphatic and blood flow, breaking down fibrosis and reducing localised swelling.
Partner stretching can target a specific area of muscle and/or joint position which when held comfortably by the therapist for sustained periods, can help the client stretch more effectively.
Muscle Energy Technique (MET) and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) are very effective forms of stretching that with the Therapists assistance can enable the client to gain greater flexibility and range of motion, than by passive stretching alone.
