Matthew Syres Photography, based in the inner west of Sydney, is the photographic studio of commercial and fine art photographer Matthew Syres. I have an obsession for both wide, and shallow focus lenses, which is the main connecting factor in my work. I have a love of colour, strong lines and unusual angles.
I'm regularly commissioned to shoot people, nature and landscapes, architecture, products, weddings, bands, theatre & dance. Well you get the idea. I've worked in many aspects of photography including traditional, digital and large format photographic printing, creative retouching, pre-press work, and editorial, retail, wedding, product and commercial photography.

Matthew Syres Photography is the Sydney-based studio of commercial and fine art photographer Matthew Syres. Growing up in Hong Kong had a massive impact on my photography. Its amazing tropical light, architecture, harbour and cityscape, street culture and character filled faces a constant source of inspiration.
Growing up surrounded by amazing architecture in Hong Kong, completing a degree in Industrial Design, and assisting renowned Sydney architectural photographer Patrick Bingham-Hall all combined to give me the technical skills, and design sensitivity to create outstanding architectural images, showcasing your project, design, or development in the best possible light (literally as well as figuratively where time allows).

With a great eye for composition, and a deep understanding of storytelling, narrative and symbolism Matthew Syres Photography are able to photographically capture the essence of your short or feature film, commercial, or other project as unobtrusively as possible, working with the crew to ensure schedules are not adversely effected in the process.

We have commissioned Matt Syres on two occasions to come to The John Berne School and take photos of the students, staff and school buildings for the purpose of our marketing collateral, school website and general promotion of Berne.

Matt Syres has been our family photographer for over 15yrs, his ability to capture the essence of the moment is true genius. The photos we have are incredible moments of time that when looked at bring the emotion and sparkle of that second, that day, that occasion and the reflection of spirit. Everyone can take quick shots of there family, but when you engage Matt his talent and skill bring a command, poise and knowledge of photography that takes years to hone.
