Dr Helen Zongas graduated from the University of Sydney in 1990 and co-founded Dentessence in 1998 with the clear goal of offering high quality, personalised professional dentistry within the Sydney CBD area. Equipped with over 27 years of experience, Helen has intricately studied how a wide range of dental options may be assessed and applied to achieve the best long-term dental solution - a synergistic smile that feels good and looks good.

I have been a patient at the practice for approximately 19 years and was actually inspired by Dr Helen Zongas to become a dentist myself. I have now been a dentist for 8 years and still return to Helen for my dental treatment as I find that she provides the most thorough and best service. Helen and her staff have always been very warm and friendly, and when you are at the practice you can see that they are all passionate about their work. I definitely recommend visiting Dentessence.

Having seen many dentists in my life, which have delivered wide range of dental service and care, I would have to say that Rachel Mascord is far and away the best. Her level of care is amazing and pain-free and her experience and knowledge are, in my opinion, unsurpassed.

Previous to visiting Dentessence, I held a lot of trauma around visiting the dentists office due to a experience that was rough, rushed and little to no care held towards me. I decided to surrender once more and give visiting the dentist another try, and boy was it a deeply awesome experience. Rachel was so tender and careful when dealing with me, fully understanding the trauma that I held and acted accordingly to be able to support me in the right way. Dr Helen Zongas is a brilliant dentist. She keeps my teeth healthy, that's the most important thing, but she does it without causing me any pain. She's always professional but also, really friendly. It's a super clean contemporary surgery and Dr Helen is great at creating a relaxed environment - while you have your teeth done there's good music playing and soft lighting. The staff remember you and are always helpful. It's a great place to go and as you leave, someone will always offer you a piece of fruit from the bowl at reception.

My late husband Robert came from a time in country Queensland when his dentist put a knee on his chest to pull out a tooth. Without anaesthetic. He was eight. Needless to say he feared and disliked dentists from then on. After 2 months with Helen Zongas working on both his and my amalgam replacements he was sorry when the wonderful time he was having came to an end. He bought Helen flowers and champagne. If I could afford it I would do the same after every visit! She is a brilliant dentist and a glorious human being.
