Dr Sam Roberts graduated from The Newcastle Upon Tyne University in the UK with a Distinction in clinical Dentistry in 2006. Following graduation, Sam worked in the UK under the close mentorship of an experienced oral surgeon. Sam then moved to Australia to combine dentistry with his passion for travelling.
At Hinterland Dental we believe that dentistry should be affordable and a healthy smile is essential for good overall health. We offer interest free dental payment plans to our Sunshine Coast patients to help spread the cost of your care. We offer both AfterPay and ZipPay for our customers. My visit to Hinterland Dental yesterday was far and away the best experience I’ve ever had visiting a dentist! (And I’ve seen a few across the years)

The staff are very friendly, easy to talk to. My son has ASD lvl2 and hates going to the dentist but enjoys going for his dental work to Hinterland dental. The dentist we saw was brilliant in the fact that he explained every step of the process to my son & I plus his assistant was very friendly & calming. They both made my son feel very relaxed in the chair. My family will keep coming back in the future.

Being new to the area and needing dental treatment, Hinterland Dentistry was recommended to me. I was extremely happy with the friendliness of all staff, relaxing waiting area and the very informative advice and excellent treatment given by Dr Rupen Patel. As a lot of people, a visit to the Dentist always causes a fair bit of anxiety but during the hour long visit I felt I was in good hands and was receiving the highest level of professional care. It's that time of year again when I must visit the dentist for my check up & clean.... Not one to overtly like dentist in general (due to bad experiences as a kid) I always leave happier for my experience with Sam & the wonderful Rachel.
My mind is always put at easy as soon as I see them both. Both caring & explaining what procedures I will be having that day.
It also becomes a quick catch up on what my family,Sam family & Rachel 10th Anniversary awaits.(fingers crossed she gets to go to Cairns soon)

I was impressed by the level of care and expertise at Hinterland Dental. I felt very anxious before having my wisdom tooth extracted, but my mind was put at ease with the kind and compassionate approach of Sam. I knew I was in expert hands, and I was given all the reassurance and support I needed to be able to relax. I was surprised by how quick and pain-free the procedure was, and I was able to heal quickly afterwards. It’s great to have a local dentist that I can completely trust.

The holistic approach starting with advice through to end result with full explanations of the whole process engenders a calming sense of confidence in the outcome as well as the skill of the practitioner. My recent crown procedure is evident of the above. Dr. Darien is an exemplary & skilled Dentist & I thank him for his caring, physical as well as emotional through the whole of my appointments.

To say I was an anxious patient is an understatement. I was actually petrified of going to the Dentist, that is until I walked into Hinterland Dental & was put in the caring hands of Dr Darien.In the last 3 weeks I have had multiple teeth extracted & several teeth filled. Through this whole process Dr Darien has been so caring and attentive to my… fears, he has calmly & gently walked me through this whole experience. I never thought I would ever say I enjoy going to the Dentist, but thanks to Dr Darien I can honestly say I now do and I am so thankful to him for everything he

Dr Gemma Hamilton is amazing. I had three fillings today and a wisdom tooth extracted in the one 75 min appointment. Both she and Rachael the assistant were kind, gentle and caring. I felt no pain whatsoever (honest truth) and not really any discomfort either.....I am a nervous patient and always come out of the exam room wondering what on Earth I got myself so worked up about. I would recommend Hinterland Dental in a heartbeat......fantastic for nervous nellies like me! Thank you Gemma and Rachael 🙏🙏
