Built in 1878, originally a doctor's surgery and private residence, Annesley House was converted to a guest house in the early 1900s. It has a rich history of providing the very best accommodation in Portland Victoria. Annesley House is located in the centre of Portland Australia, it is a quick stroll to all shops, cafes/restaurants, harbour and town beach.

This place is gorgeous. Tony the manager was warm, welcoming and had a wealth of local knowledge. The room, bathroom, kitchenette and bed are so fresh and so clean. In the Baytree room, the little step down bathroom and sunroom with extra bed and couch delightful.
Nice and close to everything including supermarkets, waterfront, cafes and boutiques.
Thanks for having us.
Will be back and we definitely recommend!

This was one of the most wonderful accomodation I have stayed in. The beautiful furnishing and attention to detail was immaculate. It was cleaned top to bottom not a mark, or a bit of mold on anything, even in the bathroom. It was so clean and tidey you could eat off the floor :). The owner, Tony, was so lovely accomodating to all our needs at any time. Made me feel like a wealthy individual back in 1878. Could not recommend this enough!

Annesely House has been very updated and restored to its Grandness! Loose yourself in its history, enjoy a tour of the house.
These guys know their stuff from crispy clean linen to unexpected extra's, good on you both. Memories treasured for us.
The surrounds a sanctuary thankyou you guys🥂

What a great place to stay, with a fully functioned kitchen and 24hr secure access. Upon arrival the greeting was awesome. Throughout that stay every time Tony saw me I was greeted by my name! If your planning to stay in portland it is a must to stay at Annesley House. Thanks Tony for the wonderful stay, we will be back again.

We visited in Feb 2018 and were delighted with our stay in Dr Brewer's rooms. We appreciated the manner in which original features of the rooms had been combined with modern conveniences and the many small comforts (e.g., port, coffee maker, and quality tea bags). The beds were comfortable and the staff very welcoming. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely historic building. Sensible compromises (I wouldn't have been too keen on 'ye olde split system air conditioners'). Surprisingly good quality towels and linen. If the quality of bed and mattress were to match it, I'd easily give 5 stars.
Stayed in a couple of rooms with a view over the garden. Great big windows. Deep soaking bath tub. Private balcony. I thought it was picturesque.

This is our second time at Annesley House ; we absolutely love this place. Beautiful old home, great atmosphere, Mark the owner is most helpful and recommended some excellent visits. There is a lot to do around Portland, Cape Bridgewater (all around please…) is a must if you like walking. The kitchen in the House Keeper apartment is fully equipped and has more than what the average self-contained accommodation usually offers. This was another memorable stay at Annelsey, thank you.

We stayed in Dr Brewer's apartment.
The house must have looked beautiful at some stage, however it has been cheaply refurbished and has lost some of its former glory.
The kitchen/eating/TV area didn't have any outlook and the furniture arrangement was awkward.
The high ceilings, lack of curtains (there are blinds) and sparse decoration in the rooms give a feeling of emptiness.
The bathroom, directly off the eating area, in an extension of the house, definitely needs refurbishing and relocating.
The heating in the bathroom was poor and we couldn't have too many appliances switched on together
