Telegraph Retreat Cottages has been providing bushland stays in traditional Australian cottages for over fifteen years. In 2010, after many memorable holidays here ourselves, we made the move from Sydney with our young family and have never looked back.
We have kept many of the touches that we loved on our holidays here including pampering massages, and the surprise of opening a breakfast hamper in the morning to find warm bread, real butter and fresh eggs from our chickens. At the same time we have brought our own personal touches including a secret woodland walk and a farm stay experience only fifteen minutes from the vibrant tourist town of Port Macquarie.

My wife and I had our honeymoon night here back in May, 2021. I have stayed at the retreat over 11 times, with the original owners and with Melanie and Roger and I have never once been disappointed. Many times… as a child and i still have the most fond memories. It only felt right to spend the first 2 nights of our new chapter here. We had the most wonderful night. We showed up late that night with the fireplace lit and the cottage warm, fresh bread on the counter with spreads and other condiments. As we wound down for the night, we were able to enjoy a warm bath in the newly renovated bathroom

We just stayed for the weekend. The kids loved the trampoline. The breakfast hamper was perfect. Comfy and clean. The farm tour was great and the young man that took us on it very friendly and patient with the kids. We loved our stay, would highly recommend. Lovely touches and home made muesli delicious.

We had a such a wonderful time at Telegraph Retreat! The location is secluded, the cottages are very private with a hot tub and fireplace making it the perfect winter getaway! Our welcome hamper was filled with a delicious make-your-own breakfast and other local goodies. There was also fresh (still warm!) sourdough delivered to our doorstep on our first morning. To top off the weekend were two baby goats 😍 (one was two days old and the other was born while we were there!) Other animals included donkeys, a cow, older goats, ducks, chickens and the resident doggos - all of which don't mind a feed

This is a magnificent experience. Not only do you get to enjoy your own private cabin with an outdoor spa and all the beautiful furnishings, but the hosts have thought of every small detail to give you an incredible stay. This includes gourmet treats for the evening and an amazing breakfast hamper for the morning (inc. Freshly baked bread). An absolutely incredible stay.
