Blown Lux were very accomodating in servicing our group of 6 for a hens party, despite being short staffed due to covid. It is a great big space and nice atmosphere, very central to all the restaurants and bars in Barangaroo. We all left with great hair which lasted well into the night, many thanks. I can highly recommend Rachel - she made us feel very welcome and comfortable. I think the other stylist was Taryn. She did a good job on the hair, but her communication was not as good as Rachel. If you are looking for friendly service ask for Rachel.

Absolutely disgraceful experience. Do not give this company your hard earned cash. I was served by Taryn who seemed to be the manager on the day (Saturday).
I went to get my hair washed and styled to treat myself before an outing with my best friend who I hadn’t seen in months.
Taryn made me feel so incredibly uncomfortable the whole time I was there, she ridiculed the lovely young apprentice that was nothing but polite and sweet to her, she watched every move she made and pulled her up on absolutely everything she did, she spoke to her loudly and so rudely i was so embarrassed, I nearly had

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I had my hair and make up done here for my hens and it was an appalling experience. I'd been previously and was looking forward to the morning, but unfortunately had a bad experience.
My makeup was terrible. Pale, no eye definition, granny lips and $28 for three single lashes on each eye (definitely not a full set!!). I wasn't offered any type of "what do you think about x,y,z" and when I asked to see the make up, she passed me a dirty eye shadow pallet! So hard to see between the dirty pallet and the very dark room. I nearly cried when I got home, saw what she'd done and

No volume, completely flat on top, stringy hair. I was gutted. After I expressed my disappointment the… girl doing my hair tried to fix it with a ghd but it was just a disaster.
I was so crushed and felt so ugly leaving Blown Lux. My friend had to rush over to my hotel to fix my hair for me because I was just so embarrassed and didn't know how to rescue it.

Yesterday I attended the salon with a group of friends, it was my second time in the salon, I have short above shoulder length hair and washed it the morning before (friday morning)and didn’t use much conditioner. When my stylist came over to me, she didn’t tell me her name. She asked what I wanted and I said a dry style with a curling wand and to keep them tight as I knew they would drop a little by the time I was going out. She didn’t brush my hair before starting, she just sectioned & started curling, my part wasn’t even in the correct place. The whole service took about 10/15mins max

So I went to Blown Lux to get my make up done. The girl who was doing my makeup had a strong scent of alcohol on her breath. She went straight to do my eyeshadow she didn't prime my lids or use concealer or anything just my bare lids with dry eyeshadow. She didn't give much attention to detail ie I had to ask her to do my eyebrows. The make-up products were poor quality and messy, ie drug store brand. Not worth $70 amateur make up at best eyeshadow looked poor in photos.

I visited Blown Lux on the weekend with 2 of my friends before our Christmas party.
From the moment we walked in we felt like we were pampered.
We enjoyed a few cocktails whilst our hair and makeup was getting done. the girls we had (sorry i didnt get their names) were so friendly and we loved the way our hair and makeup turned out

This is the ultimate feel good place, I’ve been here a few times and I will be back. Great concept, vibrant atmosphere, lovely staff. Prices are very reasonable for Barangaroo and the services offered are impressive. Do yourself a favour and spoil you. I can highly recommend the wash and blow dry, makeup refresh and lashes for the ultimate Friday night pick me up.
