Salmon & Bear is a neighbourhood restaurant located in the heart of Crows Nest on Willoughby Road. Our aim is to bridge the gap between outstanding quality seafood, steaks and casual dining prices. Removing a few frills means we can offer produce of the highest calibre such as Ora King Salmon for diners who like to eat out regularly.
Our restaurant in Crows Nest is a light filled space with fiddle leaf and olive tree greenery. We have a great outdoor courtyard surrounded by our herb garden which is perfect for alfresco dining and also a safe spot for the kids to play. Having shared many a tale over a crafty ale - Joel Katz, Joe Ward and Mark Jensen together dreamt of something special.

Services
The Mibrasa Experience showcases all that is good and great on our menu. Starting with our most popular entrees before moving onto a main course of fish or steak, cooked over charcoal in the Mibrasa, with generous sides for the table to share, and finishing with our amazing desserts. Each person chooses their own fish or steak and we send a generous selection of side dishes and sauces to share at the table.

Mibrasa oven - over cooked and not worth the price.
We booked on a Sunday night with a few friends. The interior is quite nice. The service was a little slow, a few of us arrived at different times but it was so difficult to order a drink. The wait staff don't look at the customers, so we had to grab someone to come to the table to order drinks. This was the same when it came to order our meals. We ordered a bottle of wine and a few cocktails. The lady was kind enough to let us taste the wine before purchasing the whole bottle. Cocktaills were okay, a little small but tasty.

Great venue with good food and friendly staff. Super busy on a Friday night with the food almost taking an hour to arrive after ordering. However, we left as full & happy customers 🤩
🥔Potato scallops had the perfect crunch and paired well with the chive sour cream!
🐟The Ora king salmon had nice crispy skin. While the flesh was a bit dry, soaking it in the lemon butter helped.
🌮The fish tacos were sizeable and had a good amount of sauce and pickled onion for balance - just note that you should eat them first or they do get soggy!
Also in hindsight, we should’ve swapped the chips

Real food really good! This place has engaging friendly vibe about it. The team is very friendly and helpful. The food was super fresh and tastefully put together. Serves were generous and a great value for money. I highly recommend that you give Salmon and Bear a try and you will discover what hospitality should be. I will be back!
