It's Time For Thai
We're a family run restaurant serving authentic Thai food to Sydney locals for over 15 years, first opening Tum's Thai & Taste of Thai in Randwick. We've now opened It's Time for Thai for our local diners in Kingsford, Haymarket and Newtown.

At It's Time for Thai we serve dishes from Southern and Central Thailand and include Thai Muslim dishes rarely found in Sydney Australia, including Ko Mok Gai (Thai style poached chicken with biriyani style rice) and freshly made Roti (flaky flat bread) that go great with our Penang, Massaman, Red, and Green Curries. We also have a special selection of Thai style dishes with Malaysian, Chinese and Japanese influences.
Services
It's Time for Thai opened in Kingsford over 3 years ago and is closely located to the Kingsford Nine Ways roundabout and near UNSW (University of NSW). At our Kingsford location we serve freshly made roti (crispy flat bread) that go great with our penang, green and red curries. Kingsford is an exciting upcoming suburb with new tram lines being built along Anzac Parade and is scheduled to be completed by mid 2018.
You'll recognise many of our classic Thai dishes such as Pad Thai, Massaman Curry and Tom Yum along with authentic dishes which are rarely seen outside of Thailand. Try our variety of Thai curries with Roti (flaky flatbread) or share a whole Barramundi/Snapper either steamed, fried or grilled with a selection of our housemade Thai sauces.

Friendly staff and tasty foods.
We love their entrées and I think their strength is on the traditional cuisine.
Reasonable pricing, halal, and have restroom inside and accessible for people with disabilities.
4/5 for being great

Sat down at the table, had to ask for the table to be cleaned. Ordered three dishes, two of which arrived at the table incorrectly after a long wait correct food arrived. Very little substance to the food. Waitresses was indifferent. Spend your money elsewhere.

Delicious noodles, huge portion and great value for lunch at $11.90. Fast, friendly service, and you get a cute little box with beansprouts and lemon wedge! I will definitely be coming back to try more items from the menu

I really like the food here. They have big portions so you know there's some to take-away for tomorrow or later for dinner!
We had the chicken and crab balls, seafood laksa and mango drink. We also had Pad Thai seafood, lychee drink and mango with sticky rice.
All the flavours were good and we were satisfied. We also had the sweet potato string snacks.
Our service staff were very good too.
Altogether was a very reasonable $80!
We will be back to try more dishes in the future!

Nice air conditioned place. Dishes are pretty much the same choice as other Thai restaurants in the area butthe sizes of the dishes are larger and prices are very good.
Great for 1 or even larger groups.

The first time I visited and ordered the crispy chicken I had to say that I was amazed. Besides the fact that it is a little far for me as a uni student to walk all the way there, I think it is worth it. They practically pile your plate with chicken with a drink for a very affordable price. The other foods are also delicious.
Verdict: similar to the one in Central, this restaurant offers generous portions of delicious foods with affordable prices
[Edit] April 2018, the price of The lunch menu especially the crispy chicken has remained the same, however, the portion is noticeably reduced.

Just ordered duck red curry, tofu+vege pad thai and fried chicken wings (via uber eats) for my wife and I, food was okay but halfway through my meal i saw an ingredient i had never seen before. it was a cooked fly in my meal.

I am so disgusted right now, i actually threw up.

never going back and cannot recommend.

I had just read reviews for this restaurant and thought I'd try it out today for lunch. Reviews don't lie! This place was friendly, welcoming and provided the goal of having cheap and tasty Thai food. I had the Pad See Ew and I'm definitely coming back here to try more of the menu. Great for students and I think more restaurants should follow this kind of method of providing a great service to people. The only thing is make sure your order is $30 or more otherwise there is a 2% surcharge for using a debit/credit card. I'm sure you'll get there with the amount of variety

The food is delicious. Serving sizes are large. Attentive service. Nice ambience. I had roti and chicken with cashew nut sauce with rice, which was mild. I recommend It's Time for Thai as a fun dining experience.

My favourite Thai joint in Sydney. I was devastated when they closed for renovations because I feared they had closed for good! Every single dish myself or whoever I bring there have tried has been amazing. I highly recommend the beef matabah and hoy jor as entrees. For people who are quite new to Thai food, the BBQ chicken is great, if you are already acquainted with the cuisine, get straight into the papaya salad. I've attached photos for you to feast your eyes upon and salivate :)

If you are after a soulless restaurant that is essentially a factory of acceptably tasting Thai food served by surly staff - then this is your place.

Went there last night and loved every single thing we ordered. Green Chicken curry was so tender, the massaman beef curry was beautiful, tasty and fell apart in my mouth. The crispy chicken is very recommended and was yum!
We got the rice and the roti because we couldn't decide. We were so happy with everything!
We will definitely go back!

Looking for some good thai food in the eastern suburb? Look no further !

Ive been here numerous times and to be honest, I dont think I have tried any dish that is worthy of a "meh". Everything here is pretty much a winner (yay!).

One of my favourite dishes here is PAD SEE EW. Since I always order this dish at any Thai restaurant I go to, I will consider myself as a PAD SEE EW expert, and this place serves GOOD PAD SEE EW !

Other dishes which I would recommended are:

Crispy chicken with rice - YUM! Portion is generous , not too oily, comes with a small bowl of soup.

My favourite Thai in Sydney. I only ever get delivery but am always happy with the food and the delivery times. The big difference is the Roti they serve with the curries. Love it!
There are a billion Thai restaurants in Sydney so when you find one you love you you'll never need another. This is mine, go get your own ;)

It was Time For Thai last night.

I enjoyed the food there and there was quite a bit of it as 2 girls couldn't finish 2 dishes! If you've seen how much I can eat and how I hate wasting food you will know that it would actually require me to be extremely full to leave some food on the table.

$12 for each of the dishes was quite reasonable. Even, dare I say, on the cheaper side of other Thai places in Sydney.

I'm not sure what possessed me to order an omelette today, it's the sort of thing that anyone can cook even someone who causes kitchen fires like me, but maybe it was because the menu had it listed as one of their favourites and I wanted to see what was so special.
Anyway I'm glad I took the risk, the Chicken Omelette at it's time for Thai is a seemingly simple but delicious dish. There must be secret ingredients as I do not think I could make an omelette comprising of chicken, shallots, tomato and onion, taste like this tasted. It was delicious. I recommend it.
