We communicate in plain English with the aim of making our advice clear and understandable. My grandfather was born in Valetta, Malta in the 1920's and with him came his strong work ethic which was imparted in his son (my father), Paul Patrick Falzon, who was born in Sydney in the 1950's, was a solicitor for Legal Aid NSW and subsequently became a Magistrate.
He is now a consultant solicitor with Falzon Legal. Selecting the Maltese Cross as my firms logo was, to me, a wonderful way of remembering the migration story of my grandfather (and so many like him); a sheet metal worker who came to Australia looking for new opportunities not only for himself but for his family.

An effective estate plan may require more than preparing a valid Will and it is important to consider various aspects of your life, financial and personal circumstances when planning estate documents. A valid Will determines who should benefit from your estate when you die and who will be responsible for administering it - those chosen as your executors / trustees.
Although with net banking these days the need to go to a bank for money, for most of us is a thing of the past. Even if we are overseas we can still access all of the online companies we deal with when we are home. We can shop, pay bills, even order meals without getting out of bed. So why would we need a power of attorney?
Some of us due to a medical condition that renders our lives futile would not not wish to be revived from that state and would prefer to die a natural death. Seeing a loved one unconscious in a hospital bed with the doctors assuring that the person will not have any quality of life should they regain consciousness would be very upsetting.
At the time you appoint an enduring guardian, you must have the capacity to understand the effect of the appointment. You can delete the functions you do not want your enduring guardian to have and add others if you wish. E.g. you can give them the power to decide on your health care but not where you live.
