Good food, good wine, good cocktails.
We visited here for dinner and seafood linguine and lamb gnocchi were perfectly cooked. A meal to remember for our port Douglas holiday.

My wife and I have been holidaying in Port Douglas for a week. Being around new year it has been busy and a lot of restaurants are under staffed because of COVID in other states. This has made it difficult to get into restaurants within the area.
We attempted a walk up for Zinc and although they were booked out the gentleman at front of house was happy for us to take a seat in the bar for drinks to see if there was a cancellation or an opportunity to fit us in. He made us no promises but a drink in the bar and a snack while waiting sounded good. The bar has a light bar menu and the food was very

We came to Zinc for a winemakers dinner with matched courses and everything was great. Each course was well thought out, and was carefully paired with wine. We can’t wait to come back again and order from the normal menu.

This is an amazing restaurant but our experience could have been better. It was a very humid evening but we got a lovely table. The entree was delicious but the mains - Barramundi and Steak didn't match the price asked, the barra was fresh but it's farmed and muddy so it didn't taste as fresh as ocean caught - we were told it was farmed so no fault of the restaurant just an FYI to future diners. The steak however, was slightly overcooked (nothing terrible). The wine pairing was divine though and so were the cocktails. So much food we had to roll home. They were very busy and the staff were also

Everything about our experience here was really nice and special. Although you expect high quality of service from a fine dining establishment.... these guys go above and beyond that level. Michaela (hope I got the spelling right) was lovely and rely looked after is including really engaging with the kids and made their night. Accommodated our birthday request also. The mains top notch, made well and with care including the kids menu. The desserts were divine. Would definitely come back here! Thanks to the entire team

Salmon Carpaccio was excellent, and steak was good. However it seemed very similar to another restaurant down the road, which seemed cheaper, prettier venue, and had better service and tastier food.

This was our best dining experience during our visit to Port Douglas. The food was excellent, the staff were fabulous. The chef accommodated our craving for mashed potato even though it wasn't on the menu. The desserts were spectacular. We had an excellent night.

Loved this place! The bread was lovely so is my ceviche! So was the cocktail. The linguine was tad bit too oily for my liking but still good. Fish was super fresh too

A lovely vibe, friendly service and delicious food and drinks. Had to book in advance (day before) as it seemed very popular. Serving sizes were quite large which sadly meant we weren't able to fit in dessert! (Not complaining!) Highly recommend the seafood linguine, flavours were lovely. Not a cheap dinner by any means - we spent approx $65 pp including 1 drink each, but good for a special night out.

Separate vegetarian menu where they can make most items vegan. Get the cob loaf as your appetizer! It was one is the beat dishes we had all trip. The vegan risotto is more like a mushroom rice pilaf, but it was still really good.

This place is on the fancy side of the choices in town. Came in and ordered a twisted sour which was a yummy cocktail. Also, got the scallops and red prawn pasta. Both were exceptionally made and beautifully plated.

Non apologetic and arrogant.

This place is designed for non-adventurous tourists who are looking for a generic restaurant to dine at. It doesn't seem to have any specialties and serve fairly generic "western" food. It was also quite pricey for what it is (Appoximately $30 for fish and chips).

Service was average and it was probably our poor waitress's first day at work. Given our table of 5, she was hesitant in taking our order, which made me question whether she got it all down correctly. She repeated each of our orders back to us before putting in the order. Glad it turned out right.

The ambiance

I was told that Queensland had bad food, but Zinc is proving this stereotype wrong.

We had no problems getting a table for a group of 7. The staff was super friendly and very prompt.

For entrees we ordered calamari, potatoes and sausage, and warm goat cheese deliciousness. For mains spaghetti bolognese, the steak, and clam pasta. There was not one bad dish to be had. Our best meal in Port Douglas.

Was OK. We went sorta late but did not know they switched over to a limited bar food menu before we got there. Service was sorta weird, only a few other patrons there. Food was OK, sorta pricey. Nice location though sitting outside under the trees.

We booked at Zinc for 7:30pm. We arrived slightly early and waited for 20 minutes to be seated. The guy running front of house was flustered, inefficient and not pleasant. We debated about just leaving, but felt bad because we'd booked. Eventually we were seated at an inside table just next to the kitchen. We asked them to seat us an outside table but we were told that outside tables were fully booked even though they were not even half full. Eventually we had to leave.

Went here with my family (partner, 2 small kids) on a Tuesday night. We made reservations at 515 because I'm weird like that. But by 6, the place was at about 75% capacity.

The kids split a kids-sized spaghetti bolognese and the ciabatta with oil and vinegar. My partner and I split the bruschetta, while she had the mushroom risotto and I had the garlic prawns spaghetti. We both had wine. All up it was around $110, but the kids are free (due to a promotion).

These kids are notoriously picky eaters and they inhaled the spaghetti. My partner loved her risotto and I couldn't stop eating

Nice building design to catch the evening breeze. Good beer on tap. Good child's menu. Unfortunately by the end of our main meal three words sum it up: Trying too hard. Good attentive service and our waiter knew the specials, couldn't really fault the floor staff. But the food wasn't working- entrees were too rich and filling, although the flavours were good, and the mains were lacking - chicken over cooked and sauce flavour didn't work together. Market fish was thread fin and served as fish and chips - the fish part was battered and fried well, but the chips had that flowery

Stopped here on out last night in port douglas and can't recommend it highly enough. Service was excellent and the food was amazing, a perfect end to a great holiday.
We had the pesto barramundi and the prawn spaghetti - both were very Tasty but the prawn spaghetti dish was particularly flavoursome and very generous with the prawns.
For dessert we tried the cookies and cream cheesecake and the brûlée. The brûlée was one of the best I've ever had.

Loved everything about this place from the ambiance, the service, the food and the owner. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we had a top notch experience.

I called at the last minute to see if I could get a reservation. The owner said all of the tables were full but he would work with me if I could get there quickly. So I hooped on the bus and over I went.

Once there, I was warmly greeted and given a choice of a couple of tables. All of them were fine and yet the owner kept apologizing that the "good tables" we're all reserved. Hey, it was me that called at the last

Upper-end bistro style dining in the heart of Port Douglas.

I'll get straight to the point, we absolutely loved this place!

The service was fantastic; they knew every dish on the menu inside out, were friendly & they really looked after us (no mean feat when feeding Vegetarian Girl & Nut Allergy Boy).

Front of house wasn't the only success though, the food was great too; would very much recommend the mushroom risotto which was rich & velvety without being gluggy (is that a word?) & the Zinc house salad (no kangaroo, no peanuts [see what I mean?]) was a delicious fresh
