Established in 1997, AMIR is an underwriting agency acting on behalf of certain syndicates at Lloyd's of London and specialised local insurers. The company is an approved cover holder of Lloyd's. Our main objective is to work with brokers, insurance agents and other associations to develop innovative insurance schemes for specialist or niche markets.
We currently hold a number of binding authorities in specialised classes of insurance, whilst our wholesale division provides access to a range of other quality niche products. We are pleased to inform you that AMIR has access to Lloyd's capacity covering Public and Products Liability risks including Sudden and Accidental Seepage and Pollution. Energy (Oil and Gas); we are keen to write Public and Products Liability for upstream and downstream oil and gas risks. Utilities; we are also keen to write liability risks in respect of power stations, solar, and wind farms on land, water desalination plants, etc.
For 30 years, Jan worked for a P&I Club as a claims handler, in underwriting and in management, whereafter he worked for a broking firm for 3 years, before he established himself as an Independent Marine Insurance Consultant based in Kiama, Australia. Jan is guiding and assisting shipowners and charterers on their Marine Insurances such as P&I, FD&D, Hull & Machinery, War, Loss of Hire, bunkers, etc.
We confirm that Asia Mideast Insurance and Reinsurance Pty Ltd (AMIR) has been granted a licence variation with a new authorization to issue, and provide general advice on, miscellaneous financial facility - miscellaneous risk products limited to business risk products to retail and wholesale clients.
