Services
Hawley's Engineering was established in 1938 by Les Hawley who was a mechanic and general fabricator. The outbreak of the Second World War saw this small fabrication shop transformed into an assembly line carrying out "truck conversions". Vehicles from America were imported as "flat top" trucks and along the assembly line were converted into APC's (armoured personnel carriers) and then shipped out again.
Profile cutting of mild steel is our core business. We are equiped with 6 Profile Cutting Machines with CNC controllers. Our machines can accurately cut any two dimensional shape that can be drawn. With flame cutting we can CNC profile cut carbon and low alloy steels such as mild steel (GR 250 and GR 350) and quench and tempered steel (Bisalloy 80 and 360).
Equipped with the Kovosvit "TOS" vertical spindle surface grinder and more than 50 years experience in surface grinding Hawley's Engineering are renowned for fast and accurate finishes. Tight tolerances are obtainable with our extensive range of surface grinders. Our highly trained operators produce quality finishes that make us a market leader in the industry.
