We always enjoy o/n staying here on our way to and from nsw coast .
Being dog (and horse)friendly it is a great stopover for Sam the lab.
We cancelled last year due to covid and only just managed to get out of Melbourne today.
We enjoyed walking around the gardens and stables. The frosts and summer heat make it difficult for some plants.
Disappointing that the truck and farm machinery outdoor museum across the road has folded.
The family who are the hosts are very friendly and accomodating in this motel that is halfway between Melbourne and Sydney.
We'll be back !

Lovely quiet spot. Modest clean accommodation, being progressively upgraded. Nice little licensed restaurant (limited but adequate menu), with comfy dining chairs (one of the upgrades)! You can even buy some free range eggs from their own hens. Light breakfast included in price. Highly recommend for overnight stop between Sydney and Melbourne.

This was my first stop on a 6 day road trip. I did not really know about the town of Tarcutta and was looking at bigger towns either side for the night...but somehow I came upon this place on the map...and the reviews were GREAT, I decided to give the place a go.
I was welcomed...(first tick). The room was warm (tick), there was a TV, clean bed and bathroom , milk for a coffee if I wanted it, (tick)(tick)(tick)...but the best thing was how comfortable the bed was. Just sensational. Room 5! (TICK). The other thing I really liked was that the bathroom had the older style tiles, which I really liked

The room was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. They thought of everything you could possibly need. Great value for money too. We had dinner at the motel dining room which was very tasty and generous. The complimentary breakfast was also good with every type of cereal including gluten free you could ever want.

Pleasantly surprised!
Staying at Tarcutta for work for a few days saw me staying at the Halfway.
Not expecting much, I was pleasantly surprised by all aspects of my stay.
The place is not new... one of the many Motels that sprung up along Australia's highways during the boom times following the second world war.
But the new owners have been very busy tidying up, building, and renewing throughout.
The rooms are typically quite small, but very clean, tidy , freshly painted and well presented. Air conditioned, TV, seemingly new beds with new linen.
The bathroom is, again, typical of an older
