Barry Smith Dental was established in 2002 by Dr Barry Smith within the Schwarz Medical practice in Elderslie. The practice operated as part of a larger medical facility and based itself on high quality family dental care. Due to the rapid growth in the practice, plans were commenced in 2007 to expand the dental facility at the Schwarz practice to cater for increasing patient demands for high quality dental care in this rapidly expanding area.
Dr Smith graduated from the University of Sydney in 1994 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, before serving 11 years as a Dental Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force. This provided a tremendous opportunity to learn and develop his professional skills whilst working alongside some of Australia's leading specialists, experiencing the importance of maximising dental health to the overall general health of a patient.
At Barry Smith Dental we pride ourselves in delivering an extensive range of dental services for the whole community. These include, but are not limited to, orthodontic treatment, endodontics, implants, and complex crown and bridge treatment, which are either provided at our practice by our dental team or by a specialist in the local area.
There is now a well-established link between gum disease, known as periodontal disease, and serious medical problems, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke, pulmonary disease, pancreatic cancer and pregnancy complications.
As a result, while we have always been keen to ensure maximum oral health, with regular cleans, to maintain healthy teeth and reduce gum disease, we now recognise that it is a medical need to improve dental hygiene, to ultimately reduce the risks of further medical problems.Maintaining good oral health goes beyond brushing teeth a couple of times a day, daily flossing and the use of a good mouthwash.

Would give lower than one if possible for their customer service standards. This practice had been going down with their customer service for a while but I think it can not go any lower than it already has. Front office staff are very rude and unpleasant and the practice manager Rachael is absolutely hopeless and condescending. Admitted to me she couldn't care less about any feedback you provide, shameless...!! Needless to say I will be taking my family elsewhere from now on and I hope if you're thinking of going here for treatment you think twice as this practice is, in my opinion, one of the

Worst experience I have encountered. I have suffered tooth pain and unable to eat on right side of mouth despite visiting their practice on 6.9.21 at Camden Rooms. I was evaluated and given 2 exrays of which I was referred to a jaw specialist and TMJ clinic which was not the cause of my problem which resulted in out of pocket expenses of $600 to no avail. Asked if I could see Dr Barry Smith which seemed too difficult. Went to see another dentist who arranged periodontal debridement of two teeth because of acute inflammation between two crowns and I may lose one or both of these teeth because of

Today I had the worst experience at the Barry Smith Narellan practice. Two week ago I attended the Camden location and had my teeth cleaned and xrayed. I asked for my teeth to be internally whitening and to sort out my front tooth to be capped. So I proceeded to book an appointment for two weeks time. I had a day off work to have this procedure done, I arrived and the Dentist did not have this procedure booked in for me and only stated that a back tooth to filled was booked instead , they proceeded to xray my teeth in which I had an xray done only two weeks prior and a month rinse, they had the

Fantastic and caring service, right down to the reception staff. They made my 3 year old very comfortable about having her teeth checked. She keeps asking when we are going back! The facilities are very clean and waiting room has a peaceful atmosphere. There are toys for kids to play with as well as a colouring in table.

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Barry Smith and his wonderful team on Argyle Street in Camden, for about 6 years now.
I am 63 and my wife is 55...and we have both had regular dental care our whole lives...and both of us consider Dr. Barry and his team to be the BEST DENTIST AND DENTAL TEAM that we have EVER had the pleasure of having provide care for us. He is head and shoulders above every other dentist we have ever been to, in the many,. many places we have lived. Seriously, we are ecstatic about him and his work.
