I am Dr Diane Tay, a Specialist Paediatric Dentist and welcome to my website. I offer a full range of dental services for infants, children and adolescents, including those with special needs. Paediatric dentists are specialists who are trained and qualified to provide comprehensive dental care for children from infancy through adulthood.
Sydney Specialist Dental Group is a new Specialist Dental Centre in the heart of St Peters. Dr Diane Tay and the team of specialists offer a full range of dental services for infants, children, adolescents and adults including those with special needs.
Whilst we love to see our patients for regular check-ups, we also specialise in complex cases where extensive treatment may be required, and/or where the patient is too young or too anxious to simply have the work done 'in the chair'.Appointments for an initial consultation are generally available within a very reasonable timeframe, with urgent cases given priority.

The use of sedation in Paediatric dentistry is a common way of delivering dental care in a compassionate and appropriate manner for young children. There are many reasons why these services are provided and the use of oral sedatives, medications and/or the use of nitrous oxide sedation (happy gas) are the two most common forms of sedation in paediatric dentistry.
Although many of my patients are referred from their general dentist, no referral is required to see me. Appointments can be made by completing the contact form or calling my friendly staff, at your most convenient location, and they will help arrange your child's appointment. I welcome self-referrals from parents who seek direct access to specialist dental care.
Your first appointment involves a consultation and examination. During this time you will have the opportunity to discuss your concerns in a relaxed, child-friendly setting. It is also a time for your child to feel comfortable in the clinical environment with both Dr Diane and her staff. Low dose x-rays may be taken if appropriate.

Dr Tay is wonderful! My 19 month old stumbled at home and broke one of her front teeth quite badly on a Sunday. We emailed the clinic and got an appointment Monday. They are so well set up to help young children relax in an otherwise quite overwhelming environment. Dr Tay explained all the options to us and by Tuesday morning we had surgery. Her staff are so caring, her approach and work are flawless. We can not believe how great the tooth looks, the recovery has been seamless and our daughter completely oblivious to what happened. Can not recommend Dr Tay and her expertise enough.

We've seen Dr Diane Tay since my now 5 year old hurt her front tooth during a fall when she was 1 year old. She slotted us in that frantic morning and treated my daughter with kindness and compassion and assured us parents that everything will be ok. I am in awe of the work Dr Diane Tay does and I will never hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist.

Dr Diane has exceptional communication skill in making my daughter feels comfortable during her dental procedures. Dr Diane and her team was very thorough and explained all the procedures prior which really helped my daughter to stay calm. Their dental clinic is also very kids friendly and creates a relaxing ambience. I would highly recommend Dr Diane if you are looking for a paediatric dentist.

Diane is not only an excellent dentist, but was kind and genuinely caring toward my child - making her feel safe, at ease and even excited to see her again. Diane went above and beyond what is usual in terms of communication and time - taking great care in knowing that we understood the cause and procedure, and that our child understood as much as possible too. I’m sad to say that after months and months in a broken public system - long waiting lists and distressing appointments (not the fault of public dentists I might add), I felt my child was truly safe and looked after. Diane was very caring and explained the treatment plan as well as procedures very clearly. Our daughter recovered well after the procedure.
We’d been to a few dentists and felt we were in safe hands during our first visit itself. Her team also sends regular updates and follow ups. Highly recommend her.

Words can not explain how amazing Dr Diane Tay is! I am truly thankful that my dentist recommended her. My daughter is 5 and super anxious when it comes to dental work so when we found out that she required a pulpotomy and tooth crown it was stressful. Dr Tay was aware of my concerns and at all times made me feel at ease. The start of the procedure was a bit touch and go at first but with Dr Tay’s patience,resilience and caring nature towards my daughter and the process wemade it though it. Even though it probably wasn’t the most fun experience for my daughter it wasn’t a horrible

Dr Tay was compassionate, caring and gentle with both us as parents and our young child. We have nothing but good things to say. Her follow up calls to check on our child were very much appreciated, and one month on, her clinic is still in touch to check how our child is feeling.
She always calls back to answer enquirers and has even called me late on a weekend after finishing her surgeries to answer some questions I had. This shows the level of care she gives.
We felt safe and that our child was well cared for with Dr Tay. Would highly recommend her to all!
