People often undertake counselling to deal with difficult and overt problems however there is also much to be gained from undertaking therapy in a more elective manner, with the goal of optimising one's life. Even though anxiety and depression may be separate diagnoses there can often be an overlap between them. Anxiety is an emotion which is part of the range of normal human functioning. It is an appropriate response in situations where we are worried about the possible outcome of a challenging circumstance.
Much of my peacemaking counselling has been where relationship breakdown has occurred within families and groups. The ensuing estrangement of individuals from each other, from the family, or the group has been sad, traumatic and tragic for those who have been alienated. The experiences of loss and grief are often felt powerfully; especially the loss of a relationship.
The connections between family, friends, work colleagues, romantic partners and individuals who we encounter in our lives are all governed by different styles of connecting and can have different challenges. Relationship breakdown, poor relationships and estrangement can be explored in relationship counselling with the aim to achieve stronger connections, or to determine what is appropriate for the relationship going forward.

It has been some weeks since sessions first commenced together with Zipporah Oliver, and already the change in our relationship and home has been overwhelming. We are learning and have been able to communicate, and discuss our differences without it ending with a partner being upset, hurt or angered. There is no denying that it is hard work, but with each of us trying 100% in the way that we approach each other in our thought process and attitude, it is slowing paying dividends. There still is a lot of learning and changing to be achieved, but given time and the wonderful support and help that

Zipporah Oliver's therapy over an extended period of more- and less-intensive therapy (as prevailling need as dictated) has been invaluable. It has afforded me new strengths, personal and professional capabilities. I have evolved skills in both self-examination and emotional intelligence towards others, which I use every day. I have recommended her to many of my close friends, for issues large and small, all of whom have benefited from her care, concern and counsel.
