Services
Letterpress is a form of relief printing using a printing press in which a printing surface (a plate) is inked and then is pressed against paper to create a print. Relief printing is where the positive parts of the image are raised on the printing plate above the negative, or non-printing areas. It is this technique that allows the creation of an impression (or debossing) of the print into the paper.
Cottontail Press utilises the latest technology in order to digitise artwork for high quality reproduction. Our preferred method is photographic capture as it allows us to capture very large pieces, and more difficult works such as thick oils. High resolution photography also allows us to properly light each piece autonomously for individual effect and accurate results.
Cottontail Press produces prints up to 44 wide (1118mm) by virtually any length on archival photo papers, fine art papers and canvas using archival pigment inks on our state-of-the-art Canon PRO-4000 and Epson wide format printers. We print from a wide variety of media, including digital files, colour or black and white negatives and transparencies.
Cottontail Press offers a wide range of paper, fine art rags, canvas and speciality media for all of your fine art printing requirements. We offer free, no obligation assistance with choosing the perfect paper for your art. If you do not see your favourite paper listed on our website, contact us and we'd be happy to help!
To ensure the best possible prints from your digital files, please upload files with the following specifications. If you are unsure or need any assistance, get in touch and we'll be delighted to help! All files must be RGB (no CMYK) and we recommend using either Adobe RGB (1998), ProPhoto RGB or sRGB colour profiles.

I have tried a large number of fine art labs all over Australia in the last 10 years, and I never thought that I was going to find one that was not only local to me, but that had such knowledgeable people running it.
