Planet Hair is a Japanese style hair salon located in Sydney CBD, 61 Market St, opposite Sydney Tower, Westfield and right next to David Jones. Our best hair stylists will provide a wide variety of special services including Dry Cut, Herbal Henna Colour, Herbal Henna Treatment, Shiseido Japanese Hair Straightening, Digital Perm, Airwave and Hair Extension.
Dry cut is a technique performed on completely dry hair that enables the stylist to look at the hair sits naturally. By cutting the hair in a dry condition opposed to wet, the stylist can assess its shape, movement, texture and volume easily. It's also easy for you to imagine your finished look. This is because when hair is wet it becomes elastic and does not sit the same way after you go back home to try and recreate the style.

We are located in the heart of Sydney CBD, only minutes away from Townhall Station and St James Station. Our hair salon was first established in Neutral Bay 1997. Starting from a smaller scale hair salon to our current size with a floor space of 192 square metres with 15 seats and a luxurious sofa in the waiting area for your friends or loved ones to relax while they wait for you to finish your hair service.

I have had about 6-8 perms in my life, and this was by far my favourite one! I usually get a digital perm, but it was recommended I have an air wave instead as it causes less damage & looks healthier. Also, my natural hair is quite fine & soft, so it doesn’t hold waves easily. I told them this and they made sure to adjust their technique to suit my hair type. My waves are exactly how I wanted and my hair looks very healthy! I will definitely be coming here from now on.

I have been to this salon for more than 5 years and Yin is my favourite hairdresser, she always knows what I want before I ask for a hair colour or style. She is super friendly and down to earth. Service is superb and quick, I hate sitting in a salon for more than 8 hours just for a colour change and Yin can just finish in max 3 hours for what I want! Thanks Yin ☺️

It was my first time visiting here and cannot find a fault at all.
My hair needed some TLC and opted for a cut and colour. I got Yin and she was amazing! Showed her different photos that I got from the internet and discussed what was the best style for me. She was very funny and super friendly! I had awful blonde highlights and wanted to go for an ashy brown look - I had my cut, bleach and colour in 2 and a half hours.
Very fast service, friendly staff, price was on a more upscale range, place was clean and the quality of work was great! I would definitely go back.

Do yourself a favour and AVOID this place! Definitely not the only one here to comment on their poor permanent hair straightening result, not to mention their SHOCKING AFTER SERVICE when something goes wrong. 2 of us, 2 different "top stylists", and after $650, both our hairs were CLEARLY NOT STRAIGHT. We had to return for our own stylists to assess our hairs- both agreed it needed to be re-done. Apparently they only did our roots during the initial visit- WITHOUT CONSULTING WITH US and they even charged us for the full length. The re-do result was no better, if not actually made our hair quality

I went to Planet Hair for Japanese hair straightening last year.The result was exactly what I wanted ! Today, I made a booking for this service again ! while I have to pay an arm and a leg for my hair, I don't want anyone touch my hair except the staff of Planet Hair beauty. It's worth it ! I would highly recommend Planet Hair. It was my first time visit, they made me feel so welcome and warm. The whole team was been very helpful, very good customer services. My hair was black and I really wanted… to get a light colour. My stylist Lucas gave me very good advice, he was so patient and professional the whole time and always making sure I feel ok.
