Do not use Hometune
I had a brand new battery that flattened after 10mins running. Called hometune and explained situation. Technician arrived and Diagnosis after 2 mins was you have a flat battery, he couldn't start car and told me to charge the battery and it will go. installed another brand new battery and the car still will not start. Asked Hometune to come back and either start or give accurate diagnosis i.e. complete the service I had already paid $129 for. Told I needed a fully charged battery for them to come back and there would be further cost of$59 per half hour. ummmm who do you call

Dante called ahead, arrived on time. Checked he could get the part I needed and did a really good job of replacing the alternator. No hassles and all done within a couple of hours. Yassss no hassles to get the car towed and organizing pickup from a garage. Plus he gave some good advice on car maintenance. Stellar!

Came here even though we heard it was a bit more expensive because we wanted good service for our nice car. Mechanics didn't listen to us and damaged the car then turned around and asked us to pay for what they had broken. And this was only after we discovered the damage and had to chase them and follow up to try and fix the issue. Extremely inconvenient to receive a car in worse condition after it has been serviced than it was before the service.

Terrible quoted $999 to do job charged $217 for nothing (call out)
My mechanic charged $256 for the same job and did the job while I waited 3/4 hr.
The $999 did not cover the leak into the chamber just the work that my mechanic did for $256.Your mechanic was going to overcharge $743 for the same job.

Our car wouldn’t start and I thought it would take ages to sort out. Within half an hour of phoning Hometune, Rod was at our house and he quickly diagnosed a problem with the starter motor. He then sourced a replacement for a reasonable price, went and got it and installed it right there and then. In the space of two and a half hours we went from woah to go. Fantastic service, thanks!

I have used them for many years. The mechanics are always on time polite and do a great job. I get my car serviced and WOF and its always done in a fast and timely manner. The place I used before Hometune were far dearer with their prices. If you are thinking of using Hometune give it a try you wont be disappointed an all done in the convenience of your own home. Highly recommended.

Worst experience. Got told that he couldn't work on site. Bit of rain and said he didn't wanna damage his scan tool which he could have kept in the car. Whole point of this company is to have the ability to work on site. Waste of time for a diagnosis that I already knew. Would not recommend them to anyone as they really have no knowledge and experience was terrible as I was told they would need to take the car to the shop for further diagnosis. They should ask more details when booking a vehicle in regards to where the car is how much space there is if your technicians cannot work there is no point

My car broke when i was traveling through Auckland and i called hometune. The mechanic charged me 495 dollars for a pipe change. And said he checked everything. He said i might have a leak as a small chance I said ok. One day later it is leaking again. I texted hometune they said we told you it can leak again from a pipe, so not our fault. I call another mechanic and apparently the main issue was never the pipes but heat gasket and it was in such a state that driving it was dangerous. I was not informed of this. I texted them again but I guess they have no real answers so they didn't even reply
