Modern Dentistry is a general dental practice and we carry out a wide range of dental treatments here within our practice. We offer all of the treatment options that you would expect from a general dental practice, and are pleased to have a range of extremely good dental specialists here in Canberra to whom we refer our patients when specialist care is needed.
Ena grew up in Canberra and came to Modern Dentistry after graduating with honours from Sydney University in 2002. Having now been with the practice for over ten years, Ena has had a major input into the culture and treatment philosophy of which we are all so proud. Her aim has always been to deliver her clinical dentistry with optimal comfort and care.
Iain moved to Canberra from Scotland at the beginning of 2013 and joined Modern Dentistry shortly after arriving. He graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2009 and has worked in general practice since. Iain is always looking for ways to integrate the latest dental technology into his day-to day practice.
Michelle is our lovely hygienist. She grew up in Canberra before moving to the Central Coast to study Oral Health. She graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2010 and has been with Modern Dentistry since returning home. As a hygienist Michelle is focused on the preventive side of dentistry. She is a firm believer in taking the time to talk and listen to patients to find the best oral hygiene methods for them.

I came to modern dentistry for the first time with my mother who needed x-rays done. Upon heading to the x-ray room, a tall, blonde woman who looked like a dental nurse was in the next room talking appallingly about what I assumed was another staff member. Her language was extremely unprofessional and nasty and I will not be returning.

Has gone downhill since Dr Tony Appleton left. The service was too quick and felt rushed. Furthermore, they would not even honour a birthday voucher I sent to them on the same day I got treated (forgot to bring it in on the day of treatment). To me, this smacked of an arrogant and smug attitude to service for customers. $25 off voucher may not seem much, but when I have saved that voucher for 6 months and forgot to present on the day (shock, horror, life has a way of keeping these sorts of things in the background and made me forget I had it) then their refusal to honour that voucher smacked of

Facilities were nice and clean. I managed to get an appointment at the last minute. The reception staff were nice and friendly.
However the appointment was very rushed, I only spent about 20 minutes with the dentist which is a bit unusual for a full checkup, x-ray and cleaning. The dentist wasn’t being very thorough with the examination.
I felt like I wasn’t really being cared for and I was just another patient in the queue.

I live on the Gold Coast but I visit Canberra once or twice a year and always book in for my check ups while I'm there. After having to visit them one time while I was there with a tooth ache, I was so impressed with their service that now I make my check up appointments a part of my ACT trip. I find them friendly and efficient and most of all gentle.
See you guys again next trip! :-)

EDIT: No it was not. I booked a check-up and clean; I had and have no issues. Do not try to deflect your responsibility.
EDIT #2: Also, my Google name is not my actual name, so how is it that you "know" what kind of appointment I made? Not only is your service bad, but this just shows that you take no responsibility for your actions, are focused on money, and do not take feedback seriously.
ORIGINAL: Terrible. Dr Appleton seemed like he just wanted me in and out. My "examination" consisted of him literally counting my teeth. Every other dentist I've been to scraped and prodded each tooth, so
