Just past Jindyandy on the Greenwell Point Road was a ramshackle old building: holes in the walls where doors and windows used to be, roof rusted away, sheets of old tin propped up against walls. Speculation by locals to the origins of the building were many and varied. Some said it was a jail, others claimed it was a huge house or mill, yet more said it was a dairy.
Are you planning your destination wedding on the South Coast of NSW? Look no further than The Butter Factory Restaurant. The Butter Factory Restaurant will provide you with a stunning backdrop for your rustic, country-styled wedding and our team of professionals will ensure that the quality of food/beverages and customer service is exceptional, leaving you to relax and enjoy your special day.

Just had dinner here tonight. I had the lemon herb chicken, hubby had Seafood platter for two and shared with our son. Our youngest had the crumbed squid chips and salad. The food was excellent and we left nothing behind on our plates.
The owners are gracious people. Very welcoming and friendly esp with our two boys!. Highly recommend this place.

Gorgeous place, lovely staff. Unfortunately literally everything we ate just wasn't cooked well. Odd tasting dips. Way too much (seperated) cream sauce on the prawn ravioli. Every piece of fish was extremely dry and overcooked. Mushy risotto. Stale chips. I think you guys should rethink the complexity of the menu and just get things cooked well.

Very accommodating, food is very good, the setting is outstanding and reasonably priced. Covid has affected them staff wise and with new staff being trained service needs to improve and it no doubt will. I think a little patience on the front and it provides a lovely dining experience. We will 100% be back and looking forward to it.

Lovely location sitting outside looking over the beautiful green paddocks, chickens wandering past. seafood platter was delicious & generous! all the meals including the desert's were great, our young male waiter outshone all the floor staff ,only thing was we gave up on our coffee's & just went & paid the bill. Sorry but the girls on the floor seemed swamped.Enjoyable evening none the less.

I think the views and service were lovely, but food needs improvement in terms of seasoning. I ordered the new york striploin in medium rare, I think the doneness I asked for was alright but it's bland. It included duck fat potatoes but it tasted just normal unseasoned potatoes. My friends loved their crispy barramundi dish though but the ones who ordered squid ink linguine and risotto said the same about under seasoning.

Beautiful restaurant, beautiful location, beautiful ambience and the staff was wonderful, attentive and friendly. Ticks a lot of boxes.
But and a big but, the food, was very disappointing. We ordered zucchini flowers, garlic bread, New York striploin steak and pork belly. None of the dishes were seasoned correctly, and steak was painfully dry and overcooked (we ordered medium rare). Same with pork, it was overcooked and dry, not juicy as it should be after 8 hours of slow cooking. See photos for reference.

Had a great lunch with the family for a birthday celebration. Great service, we had the seafood platter which was very good and great value for money. All other dishes were very nice. Highly recommend 👌

Today we stumbled upon The butter factory. I’d say this a solid 3.5. It had lovely aspect with a beautiful garden to welcome you in. Everything was nice but just missed a little warmth in our greetings with the staff. Maybe they’d come out of a rushed lunch so I would not let this hold you back from trying out this quaint little place. Food was lovely. The juniper duck was delice.

We had our wedding at the Butter Factory back in November and it was amazing. Maria and Andrew went above and beyond to make it perfect. Always happy to answer my (many) emails. The atmosphere and design of the building suited me and my husband perfectly. And the food was AMAZING! Highly recommend. perfect spot for a wedding, or for just fish and chips as lunch (which i have also had many times- always cooked perfectly). One of my favourite places for lunch :)

We just had a fantastic meal at the Butterfactory restaurant.
Maria is a wonderful host who talked us through the menu and was very friendly and helpful.
This was our second time eating here after having a great experience one year ago. Sometimes visiting a restaurant a second time can be disappointing but not here. It was just as good if not better than last time.
All of the food we ate was delicious.
The home baked bread was soft and warm straight out of the oven. The seafood platters were sensational. Very generous sizes and a great assortment of tasty seafood. We barely had room left but
