For months now food lovers in the know had been urging me to try this Italian restaurant in Cambridge st, Floreat 'Yeah, I'll get there one day was my attitude, as I focused instead on the new food dudes swaggering through laneways in the city and revitalising strips in new reawakened suburbs. Why bother with a suburban restaurant that has starchy white tablecloths and embossed 1000-thread count napkins?

My husband and I shared the appetizer which was bruschetta. They were tiny pieces of bread. One with hummus and a sliver of roasted capsicum and one with a white anchovy. Very disappointing. My husband had the fish and it was the smallest piece of fish with a small potato and practically no veg. The gnocchi with meatballs was weird. The others enjoyed their seafood.

A quick note to thank you so very much for the wonderful birthday dinner held at your restaurant on Friday evening.
The food and service (special thank you to the lovely Michelle) was exceptional, and no request, either before the evening or during the night, was too much trouble.
All the guests have since commented on what a wonderful evening it was, and all really enjoyed the delicious food and there was much swapping and tasting going on around the table.
My mum couldn't have asked for a better way or place to celebrate turning 80 years young!
Thank you again , and wishing you all a very

Well I’ve been to Prego several times and let me say I’ve decided they deserve my loyal review. The chef is extremely friendly and satisfy our request that I can’t say enough. Once we commented that there was not enough garlic chips & rockets for the beef carpaccio and he said: Just ask and we can give you more! He is willing to take feedback and make sure we always enjoy our Prego experience. Now as for the food, wow! The duck never fails to surprise us with the high quality and consistent each and every time we dine there. The grilled prawns (entree) were outstanding and it has that char

Last night was the third time I have dined at Prego. Each time has been wonderful! The service is fantastic - attentive but never intrusive. And the food is exceptional - I love that the owners/chef have obviously listened to so many customers agonise over whether to choose the duck or the lamb that they now let you have a half portion of each on the same plate 😀 And both dishes are scrumptious! Prego is a fabulous place to celebrate a special occasion, or just to spoil yourself with an excellent meal as my friend and I did. We will be back soon!

Had a fantastic family lunch here. It was a special event and was made extra special by being at Prego. It's a classy place inside, amazingly attentive service and most importantly the food was cooked to perfection. I had a medium cooked fillet steak and it was excellent. The roast potatoes were very good as was the accompanying sauce. It's not a particularly cheap place to eat but definately worth it for a special occasion. Everyone in our group really enjoyed their meals Can't wait to return.

My husband took me to Prego Restaurant last Saturday evening to celebrate my birthday. It was my first visit to the restaurant. Our table was booked for 8pm. As we were shown to our table, I noticed that almost all of the tables were occupied. As to be expected, there was a decent level of noise from conversations and laughter. Unfortunately for us, our corner table was right next to a big table and the people at that table were really loud, making it difficult for us to carry on a conversation. Despite that, I did enjoy my first dining experience at Prego. We ordered the chef’s specials for

Conveniently (for me), Italian restaurant Prego is situated just across Cambridge Street in Floreat from a bus stop and was the venue for a pre-Christmas lunch with a couple mates. And knowing them driving was out of the question.
It is a stylishly set up place, with friendly and welcoming waiters, varied and interesting menu, and a well put together wine list.
On this occasion, however, we had asked that we be able to BYO - sort of a Christmas tradition where we try a range of wines from our various cellars - and the restaurant was happy to oblige. And range across a good number of wines, white

Fine Italian cuisine with a twist of Israel (yes he does do pork).
Delightful pasta dishes, perfectly prepared duck and very long slow roast lamb!!

Most attentive floor staff who couldn't do enough!!

Well worth a visit.

Prego abides in a fairly austere environment with muted decor and little in the way of adornments. While aesthetics don't determine your dining experience, they can certainly enhance it. Our group of 5 was here to celebrate a birthday, and the birthday girl assured us her old favourite Prego would deliver the goods as far as quality dining goes. Many a good thing comes in plain packaging, right?

We opted for glasses of Prosecco all round, followed later by various wines by the glass at reasonable prices. A limited selection, but with some good options.

We were given a complimentary plate

Birthday of 6. Went with my family on Tuesday 18/11.

Excellent staff, excellent food, quite pricy.

The staff are accommodating and well rehearsed and knowledgeable with the menus, It is pricy, but there are no complains because the food was of superb quality and cooked perfectly.

Thank you so much for making my birthday such an excellent night!

Very good, somewhat fancy Italian-Mediterranean fusion cuisine in the burbs! Our group of six sampled a range of dishes from the menu, with the carpaccio and chicken tortolloni with truffles as the highlights. All of the mains looked and tasted great, with both the grilled lamb and duck as the standouts. The only let down was the somewhat less than efficient service. We had to flag down a server for our order and top up of drinks. Still, a great all rounder for a celebration or romantic dinner!

Prego definitely falls into the 'swish' category of dining. We were met by very attentive (albeit not terribly friendly) staff who showed us to our table.

Booking is essential as all the tables were full but the vibe of the restaurant didn't feel particularly busy.

The specials never seem to appeal to me but they all sounded very interesting - there were so many and they were described in such depth that it was difficult to remember them all however.

The beef carpaccio was great and the spatchcock and tiger prawns main was fantastic. Tiger prawns may have been a tad salty but

As it was a Saturday night, all the tables in Prego were occupied but luckily we have made a booking which I will advice you to do too. We were greeted with enthusiastic and friendly staff and were seated in our tables not long upon entering. For our entree, we ordered the Homemade Bread ($4.70), Italian Sausage and Olive plate ($9.90) and also the Seafood Plate ($23.90), which was one of the specials. The homemade bread was very soft and blends well with the italian sausage and the olives. The seafood plate we had was fresh, very well executed and full with flavour.

The mains arrived not long

Went to Prego this evening and for an early reservation at 6, the place was hopping! Now I know why. We had a fantastic meal and the service was first class. It's a very intimate setting and everyone on staff makes you feel welcome and are very engaging. The value for the money is fantastic. Try the antipasto to share for an entree...great flavours and just enough that you aren't stuffed before the main. We had the fish special and lamb shoulder special. Cooked to perfection along with the roasted veggies as a side.
Split the Baclava with ice cream and fruit dessert...awesome.

Prego is one of those fancy restaurants where the waiters do your napkin for you and make sure your glass is never empty. These kinds of restaurants aren't usually my thing but wow I am impressed.
Even though it's on a pretty busy street, the general feel of the restaurant is so relaxed (but still pretty classy) that you don't even notice the traffic outside. The staff are super, really attentive and helpful, and a couple even with Italian accents (!)
I wasn't super hungry so I went for an entree and a side dish and I would have happily eaten a main sized dish of either of these
