Specialist Podiatric Surgeon Dr Buckley offers foot surgery options for a large range of conditions. Importantly, Dr Buckley employs a careful, modern and 'podiatric' approach to his surgical treatments. This ensures that each patient is cared for in the most appropriate way.
In most instances, Dr Buckley is able to perform foot surgery as a day procedure and patients are often allowed to walk on their foot in a limited way straight after the surgery.Recovery times are dependent on the specific condition and procedure. However, in many cases, patients can expect to be back doing moderate routine daily activities within a few weeks of surgery.

Essentially, MIS is a type of procedure performed without the need for a large incision and is an alternative to open procedures. Traditionally, when patients required surgery to rectify a condition such as a bunion or chronic heel pain, the surgeon needed to open up the foot to perform the necessary treatments.
Dr Buckley is one only a few podiatric surgeons in Australia to offer minimally invasive bunion surgery. This technique allows the bunion to be corrected via several very small (3mm) incisions, as opposed to the traditional procedure, which requires a longer incision along the big toe joint.
Guided by fluoroscope (live xrays), Dr Buckley uses very fine burrs that oscillate at high speed to precisely cut the bone to correct the bunion deformity with minimal disruption to the surrounding tissue.Permanent screws are then inserted to hold the toe into the correct position. Failure of conservative treatments such as orthotics, different shoes, padding or splints.

I suffer from psoriasis arthritis and the associated issues it creates for my toe nails (very thick, unsightly and painful) and joints. Ned has always been extremely professional and very understanding (even when I wear high heals :-).
Ned is very caring and makes me feel comfortable at each visit. I am very happy to recommend Ned.

Having been to various podiatrists over the years and had 4 prior foot operations by two other surgeons in Perth , I was given Ned’s name as someone who would be able to help me, Someone who would listen to my issues , someone who would go back to square one and take onboard the pain and discomfort I was feeling and think outside the square on how to help me .... well - I had nothing to loose. My first experience with Ned was when he rang me from overseas to listen to what my problem was ! That was impressive ... I have had numerous appointments with him , a successful surgery and outstanding

Prepping to do the Oxfam 100km walk in October and saw Ned give a free talk on podiatry at Pally Padin. Gave great advice for prepping, preventing injury and managing foot issues for the event . Decided to have an appointment to check the footwear I am planning to wear and to check my feet over. Very happy with the checkup and feel well prepared in terms of footwear and how I am looking after my feet. Would recommend Ned to anyone looking for a very experienced and thorough podiatrist.
