Kalmar Antiques have made a name as one of the finest antique jewellery dealers in Sydney, and is a 2nd generation family business that started in 1986 in the Hyde Park Antique Centre until 1989. After then, we moved into the Imperial Arcade where we traded for nearly 19 years, and have now moved into the beautiful Queen Victoria Building in the heart of Sydney.
Kalmar Antiques specialise in antique jewellery repair and remodelling jewellery. We employ jewellers that are able to repair your antique jewellery in the style that is fitting to your piece. We pride ourselves on the work that we do, and have been repairing antique and modern jewellery for over 20 years.
The story of how we came about 16 carat gold actually goes back to a lovely young couple who purchased an antique snake ring from us that was made in Birmingham in the late 1800's in what was hallmarked as 15 carat gold. Antique and vintage jewellery and watches have become more valuable as each year has gone by.

I recently purchased an antique pendant from Kalmar. The sales person, Damien, was terrific. He was very courteous, timely and very experienced. Kalmar provided a valuation statement for insurance purposes. The pendant arrived quickly and was packaged with great care. I recently purchased an antique bracelet for my wife to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. "Above and beyond" is a bit of a cliche, but I say without hesitation, Kalmar went above and beyond to accommodate. Despite lock-down, 5km travel restrictions, Damien (and his mother!) went out of their way to find me the perfect bracelet. Beautiful, quality antique jewellery, backed up with fantastic, responsive service. Highly recommend.

I worked with Damien, over phone and email, to find the perfect locket for my daughter's birthday. It was a wonderful, easy and enjoyable experience. He was extremely knowledgeable, listened to exactly what I was wanting, and was a pleasure to work with. The Kalmar Antiques team are professional and friendly, it's no wonder their google reviews are so great! Today I invested in a stunning Edwardian sapphire and diamond ring, hand made in Birmingham in 1912, and I love it! Exquisite pieces of jewellery and old fashioned service. Such a knowledgeable team that really helped us to make informative choices. We had my wedding ring made to compliment the engagement ring (also purchased here) and it is divine. Kalmar Antiques staff went above and beyond to help me through the purchasing process of my now wedding/engagement ring. The customer service was outstanding and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a unique piece.
I was not located in Sydney but loved a ring online. They responded to all my queries promptly, sending extra images, videos and even sent the ring to me so I could try on and see in person before getting it resized. They kept me updated so I knew when the resizing would be complete and when my ring would arrive.
