AlphaQ has a team of skilled estimators to assist our clients in providing a preliminary estimate based on town planning drawings. We are the only builder who is confident to provide ballpark figures according to our hundreds of jobs completed. A building permit is written approval from a registered surveyor that confirms your building project meets Victoria's building regulations. The builder surveyor emphasizes on the structure of health, safety, and amenities issues of the building work complies with regulations. The building process has some pitfalls for those who are uninformed.

Be very wary of this builder. If you are an owner make sure you undertake your own soil investigations of your property (to thoroughly check there is nothing in the soil that will add to your construction costs) and engage your own engineer (ie for slab construction), before EVER engaging this builder. Hire your own building surveyor and ‘independent’ building inspector (do NOT use anyone recommended by the builder, so you increase the chances of detecting any faults / defects). Also check the VBA’s Disciplinary & Prosecution Register, which is very hard (next to impossible) for a builder to get listed on and they can easily appeal any decision. You might be surprised to find this builder listed on it. If you are a neighbour, get a survey of any boundary that AlphaQ is working near (this is later to ensure there is no attempted encroachments). Also, thoroughly check that the builder is complying with the siting provisions of the building regulations (ie 76A Garden Area, overlooking, daylight to their habitable room windows, etc). If not compliant report to the VBA and building surveyor, and if they do nothing demand Council enforce compliance. If you see no traffic management being used, when they have any cranes or concrete mixer trucks, etc in the road or on the nature strip immediately call your council, as they have likely forgotten to get permits from Council. Also call WorkSafe and Council if they excavate near your boundary without your permission. Call WorkSafe if they are not using hazard preventions when working from heights or with deep excavations. Call Council if site is messy, there is no sediment control , for noise, construction dust, working outside permittable hours, etc. Be careful of this builder illegally trespassing into your property, especially to flip the fence around so their client can build closer to the boundary. My overall experience with AlphaQ was good. Contractually everything was clear and the specifications and inclusion list were very detailed - you know exactly what you are getting. I was very satisfied with the quality and finish of the build. Communication was excellent and every concern/query I had were answered and attended to. The negative was that the build was not completed in the timeframe that I had hoped for taking into account that my construction was a relatively simple project and I was going to do my own landscaping. Whislt the builder is entitled to claim an extension of time due
