I used Rise Consulting as they were relatively small and would most likely be competitive, flexible and responsive. I found this to be the case and am happy with the end result.
The project was to build a basement double garage and workshop partly under the house and abutting the neighbouring property. The build was complex as rock excavation, underpinning and drainage were complex with ground water coming from 3 sides.
As I did not have a proper set of architects drawings they had to do the design and specifications almost from scratch. We also had a number of changes along the way which were

We used Rise to design and manage major structural rectifications to the visitors car park in our block of 14 units. Rise was heavily involved in all stages of the project: Initial survey & conceptual design; detailed engineering specs; tender document; evaluation of tender responses; contract preparation & negotiation; management of the construction project to ensure adherence to design and formal sign-off of project stages; contractor claim approval. I recently asked Rise Consulting to detail a new beam to replace a load bearing wall that I wanted to remove. They arrived on time, were really accommodating and helpful, gave lots of great suggestions and produced the drawings quickly and at a reasonable price. They also then followed up helping recommend a builder that could do the work for us.
