Geelong Podiatry is owned by Lynette Kent, Leonie McLaren and Philip Spark who all have more than 25 years of experience treating patients. We are joined by a team of professional Podiatrists who provide superior preventative and restorative podiatric care in a patient centred environment. Our goal is to diagnose the condition, identify the cause and implement a treatment plan to restore your function as soon as possible.

We will use state of the art technology and evidence based practice to diagnose and manage your condition. We offer quality 3D designed orthotics and Podiatric care covering a broad range of conditions including: heel pain, plantar fasciitis, ingrown toe nail surgery, diabetic foot care, foot strengthening programs, flat feet, corns & callus removal, warts, fungal nails, bunions and shin pain.
Services
Leonie graduated from La Trobe University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Podiatry). After working in a private practice in Melbourne for 6 years she moved to Geelong in 1997 to commence work with a private practice. In 2000 she moved into Community Health at Barwon Health. Leonie started her own practice, Geelong Podiatry, in 2007.
Diabetes is an Endocrine disease that results in the body having poor control of its blood glucose levels (BGL's). When our BGL's are elevated an increase in plaque deposits can occur in the small blood vessels. The foot is full of very small blood vessels so a reduction in blood flow in the foot can occur.
Ingrown toenails may be more common in people with sweaty feet, such as teenagers. Older people may also be at higher risk because toenails thicken with age.

Many things can cause an ingrown toenail, including cutting toenails incorrectly, poor posture, improper foot hygiene, such as not keeping your feet clean or dry and footwear that places a lot of pressure on the big toes, such as socks and stockings that are too tight or shoes that are too tight, narrow, or flat for your feet. Our podiatrists can do a simple nail wedge resection and chemical matrix sterilization.
Our Podiatrists are specifically trained to assess the foot during all movement, whether it is standing for hours at work, walking the dog or training for that personal goal. If you or your child has foot, ankle or lower leg pain or foot posture issues including flat feet or very high arched feet then orthotics may be able to help.
Radial extra corporeal shockwave therapy (RSWT) is an intense form of localized physical therapy in which an injured site such as your heel, is bombarded with a series of acoustic waves to stimulate a strong response in your body to heal an injured area. Put simply, the resultant stimulation of blood circulation and the formation of new blood vessels results in improved metabolism.

Great experience and service, Lynette is very professional and skilled. I’ve been to podiatrists before who couldn’t help but Lynette offers additional treatment such as dry needling which relieved a lot of my pain!
Thank you I will definitely be back for more treatment!
