Having your photo taken should be fun. It's the past being able to be seen in the future, don't miss out on recording your world. Regrets come by missing out. I think being a photographer means being able to consistently take quality photographs of people. Either as individuals or in a group.

I am one of the lucky ones. I love my job. If I'm not taking photos for clients, either people or business, I am taking photos for me. I am a photographer based in Hobart, but I travel quite a lot, especially around this beautiful state. I have also photographed on both mainland Australia and well as overseas.

I am a wedding photographer based in Hobart Tasmania. Capturing the events of your "big day" is what I love to do. I genuinely enjoy being at weddings, everyone is on their best behaviour and everyone looks great. A wedding to me, isn't just the ceremony, it's the lead up. The hair and make-up, the lost socks, the loose thread on a dress, the nervous tension from both the bride and groom.
The day had crisp clean skies and the air was warm. People had travelled from all over to witness Marcus and Hannah's special day. The lads started with a relaxed breakfast, which often seems unfair, as the girl's world was at times rushed - as they had so much to do. Hair, make up, getting the flower girls and the paige boy ready, collecting flowers, etc.
A glorious day in a beautiful setting always makes for a great wedding. Shane and Gracie were my clients, but I had photographed them quite a few times before at other weddings. So for me, this wedding was a nice catch up with friends, and not just the bride and groom. As for the wedding guests, there were four or five other couples whose weddings I had captured previously.
The ceremony was held there because the church is very special to the family. I like it when there is a greater emotional connection at a wedding, everyone seems more involved in the fun. The reception was held at Cascade Gardens - always a good spot for a wedding reception if you ask me. The space is intimate and the gardens work out well if someone needs to get some air.
As a photographer on a wedding day, you tend to spend your time pacing yourself. Professional cameras and lenses are heavy, really heavy and I take thousands of images during the day which means a lot of arm curls (each of my cameras weigh 6+ kg) and hundreds of squats or lunges. More than the physical though, is the mental.
