Services
The length of a counselling session is generally 50 to 60 minutes. During the first session you will be asked to share the difficulties you are experiencing as well as the changes you want as a result of counselling. You may be asked to complete a number of questionnaires to help Jacqui understand your relevant history.
A referral from a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician is not needed to attend counselling. However, Medicare rebates are available if you have a referring Mental Health Care Plan from one of these professionals. Having a Mental Health Care Plan means your out-of-pocket expense is halved and, that you may be eligible to receive the Medicare rebate for 10 sessions per calendar year.
If you have been referred by a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician, the cost of a session is $170.00. You will need to pay this amount at the end of each session by Eftpos or credit card (AMEX excluded). The rebate of $84.80 can then be claimed from Medicare (for up to 10 sessions per calendar year).
