Tim is the founding Partner of the Firm with more than 45 years' experience. Tim is involved in the Business law and General law practices of the Firm and also has considerable experience in advising on tax aspects of business. Tim's clients operate in a wide range of business environments. He specialises in structuring businesses to minimise tax and optimise asset protection and succession planning.
He has specialised in the area of wills, probate, estate planning and succession for almost 20 years, and his extensive experience includes the preparation of complex wills, including asset-protection measures such as the creation of testamentary trusts. In 2010, Stephen's experience was recognised internationally when he was accepted as a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners.
Fiona Hoad joined Somerville Legal in 1997, after gaining experience as a judge's associate. Fiona has specialised in family law for over 20 years, and is an Accredited Family Law Specialist. Fiona's experience includes all areas of family law including de facto matters, property, parenting, spouse maintenance and relocation applications.
Andrew specialises in commercial law, with a particular emphasis on commercial drafting and negotiating commercial agreements. His main areas of practice are intellectual property, commercial contracts and agreements, corporate law and commercial leasing. Andrew has a strong interest in commercial leasing.

Not great personal experience... I rang Somerville Legal to make a time to see someone and the receptionist's tone was rude and condensing. She put me through a lawyer who was in a hurry and did not have time to listen to the issue at hand and only wanted to set up a time to meet so he can start charge for his time. Not sure if I would ever use Somervile Legal as lack of professionalism was quite evident.

I have used Somerville and Co for about 15 years. In my view Tim Somerville is far better than any other solicitors than I have encountered. All the staff care about their clients and apply plenty of smarts and common sense. Their debt collection department is excellent value and usually gets prompt results. If you need some smart legal advice you are looking at the right firm.
